What is Gaffa?

Gaffa is an all-encompassing REST API tailored for browser automation, enabling developers to effortlessly manage authentic, full browsers through a single API call, thus eliminating the intricacies associated with headless-browser frameworks, proxies, and scaling infrastructure. It automatically handles JavaScript rendering, ensuring web pages appear as they would to real users, and supports a broad spectrum of automation tasks, such as web scraping, capturing screenshots, exporting content to PDF, converting pages into clean Markdown for LLMs, infinite-scroll scraping of dynamic sites, filling out forms, obtaining complete page screenshots, and archiving content for offline use. Furthermore, Gaffa includes a rotating residential proxy network that ensures reliable access from various locations, features automatic CAPTCHA resolution when necessary, and utilizes a credit-based pricing system where costs are based on actual browser execution time and bandwidth, facilitating easier scaling and budget management. The combination of these robust functionalities and an intuitive design makes Gaffa a powerful tool for developers in various sectors. In essence, Gaffa not only simplifies browser automation but also enhances the overall efficiency of web-related tasks, making it an invaluable resource for developers seeking to optimize their workflows.

    Versatile and easy to use

    Date: Apr 28 2026
    Summary

Really good experience! I'd always found scraping a pain, but this made it much easier. Definitely worth the cost.

    Positive

Very easy to get going! Really expressive API. Saved me a lot of time and allowed me to do just what I needed in terms of interacting with sites and getting data back in the right way. Also the dashboard where you can see your previous requests is really useful when debugging!

    Negative

I needed to use the residential proxies for some of the sites I wanted to interact with, and those are quite expensive.

    So easy to use

    Date: Apr 30 2026
    Summary

Gaffa is a really solid service. It’s easy to get started, and everything feels thoughtfully put together. The tools are flexible, which saved us quite a bit of time.

What stood out most was how smooth the overall experience is—from setup through to actually using it day-to-day. It feels reliable, and the interface makes it easy to see what’s going on without digging around. Definitely a good option if you want something that just works without a steep learning curve and clear value for money.

    Positive

Our system was using a more expensive competing product, but Gaffa made the transition simple and seamless. We are primarily using it to print PDF reports from our site, but plan to expand its use to other parts of our product and processes.

    Negative

What's not to like? Our use case may not be the most complicated, but it just works!
