What is HyperCam?

HyperCam version 2, created by Hyperionics, is now offered for free globally, supporting both personal and commercial applications. This program allows users to capture their Windows screen activity and save it as an AVI (Audio-Video Interleaved) file, while also enabling audio recording through their system microphone. It is crucial to note that HyperCam is not intended for the purpose of re-recording existing video clips from applications such as Media Player or QuickTime; rather, its primary function is to assist in producing software presentations, tutorials, and demonstrations. If you plan on using it to re-record any other video content, it is advisable to review the associated guidelines first. Moreover, HyperCam boasts additional features such as text annotations, audio capture, and screen notes, making it a valuable resource for automated software demonstrations and training sessions. Users have the flexibility to modify the frame rate and compression settings to suit their recording needs. In addition, HyperCam version 2 is compatible with a variety of Windows operating systems, including versions 8, 7, Vista (both 32-bit and 64-bit), as well as XP and 2000, which enhances its accessibility across different user environments. This versatility ensures that virtually anyone can leverage the capabilities of HyperCam to create effective visual content.

HyperCam 2: recordings are captured at inconsistent speeds and never syncs up with the audio

    Date: May 08 2023
    Summary

So I got a nice fresh Compaq Presario C504US (cheap laptop from eBay) running windows vista and I heard about this screen recording software. I decided to get the program and it installed pretty well. My speakers don't have Stereo Mix so then I decided to start recording the sims 3 without audio and i was wondering why everything looked sped up. turns out that the software doesn't make frames last longer when it's struggling to do one frame already. Needless to say, I switched to Bandicam and now i'm much happier. Granted, there's a watermark at the top of my screen again and i can only record at 10 minutes or less, but at least I can record system audio. Granted, it fails to work well in Sony Vegas Pro 10, but at least I can convert the avis to wmv files and then import those wmv files using FormatFactory 2.96 (which I downloaded from some website that provides a download for bearshare lite)

    Positive

The watermark is tiny. The product was free cause there's no trial period. Supports .AVI files.

    Negative

No easy method of recording system sound, sped up footage, audio continues after the video if you somehow get audio working.
