Overall, we were very satisfied with JOpt TourOptimizer. It significantly reduced the manual effort involved in planning teacher visits and led to better, more efficient schedules than we could have created manually. Based on our positive experience, we are also considering using JOpt in the future to optimize complete school timetables, which involve similar types of constraints and complexity.
For educational institutions or organizations that need to optimize complex planning tasks, this is a very strong and reliable solution.

We used JOpt TourOptimizer at our vocational school to plan teacher visits to students during their mandatory internships. The planning situation was quite complex, as we had to consider many different constraints at the same time like fixed appointments, time windows, preferred visits, mandatory visits, distances between companies, teacher availability, and individual scheduling restrictions.
JOpt handled this level of complexity very well. The solution produced realistic, efficient tour plans that were easy to understand and actually workable in practice. What we particularly appreciated was the flexibility in defining constraints and priorities, which allowed us to model our real-world requirements very accurately. In addition, the team at DNA was extremely supportive. They actively helped us set up the solution and answered our questions in a very practical and solution-oriented way.

The initial setup and understanding of all available options requires some time, especially when working with many constraints. However, this is understandable given the power and flexibility of the tool, and the support helped us whenever questions arose.

Great choice for this price. Any routing task I had to solve, I could be easily described and modify if needed.

Better than any routing application I used before. Many configuration parameters and diversity of nodes, resources, constraints all route related entities to describe for all my needs.

Sometimes, optimization results are not optimal or it is not clear why they were suggested.

The company I work for uses this product as a Routing Engine for multiple clients. It's quick, heavily optimizable and 95% of the time, beats our competitors results. The other 5% is probably PEBKAC issues.

Default settings work well. But there is a learning curve to further tune the settings if needed per business requirements. Once done, it works well!
