What is KS DB Merge Tools?

KS DB Merge Tools serves as an intuitive diff and merge solution for various databases, including MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle Database, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MS Access, and SQLite, enabling users to effectively compare and synchronize both schema and data. Initially, it presents a summary of schema modifications, which can then be refined to display lists of specific object types, such as table definitions and views, ultimately allowing users to drill down to the details of individual objects. Additionally, data modifications can be summarized as a comprehensive list indicating the total changes across all tables, with the ability to view side-by-side comparisons of row counts for each table, providing insight into specific column changes for any altered rows.

The tool features various filtering options to quickly isolate new, modified, or both new and modified items, whether they pertain to schema objects or table data rows, and allows users to select specific changes to generate scripts for applying these modifications to another database. Furthermore, users have the flexibility to execute these scripts immediately or store them for later application, enhancing their workflow and efficiency. This comprehensive functionality makes KS DB Merge Tools an invaluable resource for database management and synchronization tasks.

    Accdbmerge for Microsoft Access

    Date: Feb 21 2025
    Summary

Accdbmerge does a great job comparing Access databases, does it very quickly, and visually displays the differences using color. This is the best program I have found for doing my compares. It has saved me countless time while fixing and updating Access code created by unstructured programmers. I have also had quick response to my email to support.

    Positive

Accdbmerge compares two Access MDB or AccDB files and shows the differences. Access object types being compared can be limited to those of interest. The program display and interface is very intuitive and can be used without reviewing any documentation.

    Negative

I found no cons but have a request. I would like the vba line numbers to be optionally excluded from the compare.

An essential tool for my database project

    Date: Jan 24 2024
    Summary

Excellent product, well suited to build a relational database when different users are involved in data collection.

    Positive

i am building a relational database of premodern scholars using MS Access. Several students are encoding data for me. I use AccdbMerge to get their new input every day and update my master database. It works very well.
I only used the free version as I only need to update data in tables.

    Negative

Installation is a bit tricky sometimes, essentially because of access and all its different versions. The author of the app is very responsive by email and this helps to solve problems quickly.

    Best compare-tool

    Date: May 27 2024
    Summary

Very good tool to compare databases. It was really hard to compare the databases by hand. So I'm very lucky to use the tool.

    Positive

Easy to compare two Access-Databases. You can compare the table definitions, relations and much more. It's cool to compare even the data in the tables.

    Negative

It takes time to compare the databases, but there is much stuff to compare...

Save the date - many times

    Date: Dec 19 2023
    Summary

This software is the best database management tool I have used. It stands out due to its exceptional blend of features and user-centric design.

    Positive

The software is easy to use with a user-friendly interface, making it accessible even to novices. It performs tasks quickly, which is advantageous for time-sensitive projects. The software is also reliable, operating smoothly without glitches or crashes. It effectively fulfills its intended functions, meeting users' needs without unnecessary complexity. Additionally, its pricing is highly competitive, making it an excellent value in its market segment. This combination of efficiency, reliability, and affordability makes the software an ideal choice for both individual and professional use.

    Negative

The software's primary limitation is its exclusivity to the Windows operating system. This can be a significant drawback for users who prefer or exclusively use other operating systems, such as Linux. Maybe I had to try emulate it with Wine. Or in a guest OS.

KS DB Merge Tools - Can't Live Without It!

    Date: Dec 27 2023
    Summary

My experience has been productive and wonderful. I highly recommend this software to anyone who needs it. :-)

    Positive

I have been using KS DB Merge Tools for a couple of years now. I mainly use their AccdbMerge product offering with my Microsoft Access databases. Their software has saved my behind more times than I can count.

I used to use a piece of software back in the day called Speed Ferret, and when that product was discontinued, it left a big void in my programming toolbox. However, once I discovered KS DB Merge Tools, I could finally do everything Speed Ferret had done for me back in the day, plus so much more.

I use it all the time (at least once a week and on some busy programming days, multiple times a day). The developer behind KS DB Merge Tools offers the best support as well. He is always very responsive and super quick at fixing any issues or implementing any of the crazy ideas that I come up with.

    Negative

There is not one con I can think of. That's how happy I am with this software.
