What is Kiju?
Kiju is a macOS application tailored for creators, producers, and small studios dedicated to the development of vertical dramas, episodic series, and short films. This software streamlines the journey from initial ideas or scripts to detailed episode planning, character casting, storyboard creation, voice generation, video shot production, and editing. Users are empowered to guide their creative workflow, choosing from a variety of generative video models while assembling their shots into episodes that are ready for social media sharing. The design of the workflow aims to give creators autonomy over their production decisions and includes a feature that estimates the cost of each take before it is generated. Access to model usage is managed through users' OpenRouter accounts, with costs reflecting provider rates separately from Kiju's subscription fees. The application is optimized for Apple-silicon Macs running macOS 13 or later and supports both English and French languages. Aimed particularly at independent creators, producers, and small production teams, Kiju serves as an essential tool for efficiently and creatively developing short-form narrative video content. Its comprehensive framework ensures that every phase of video production is not only streamlined but also enhances overall productivity and creativity. With Kiju, users can focus on storytelling while the software handles the intricacies of production logistics.
