Someone mentioned that Epicor Kinetic was like getting a semi truck when all we needed was a pickup truck. There is so much value here and we really can create what ever process we want to see.
It feel lots of support and it just keeps getting better. Lots of the original videos and trainings I watched were on Classic, the new learning center has been amazing.PositiveRight now, I am using the knowledge agent alot.
The Epicor modules have been put together very well.
To be able to watch replays has been helpful.NegativeFinding what we are licensed for is a bit confusing because there is not one clear layout that describes what we have.

PositiveThis ERP is very smooth and out of the box is great to use for any manufacturing company. From Quote to Cash, admins do not have to go over board with customizations in order for the system to function successfully for any business.
NegativeGoing away from the on-premise and moving towards SaaS only is a big drawback.

Date: Jun 08 2026SummaryAfter two years on Epicor Kinetic we are still having issues with costing, lead-times, and financials. This is a combination of issues with bad consultants, improperly trained users, and a complicated system that our consultants couldn't even figure out. We are still using Epicor Kinetic for daily operations, but are not exploiting the full system a we should be.
PositiveEpicor Kinetic does handle most of our processes like sales, production, inventory and finance. The interface is intuitive and modern with a browser as the client. Customizations can be created without modifying the core code. Realtime reporting and dashboards are a nice feature.
NegativeEpicor Kinetic is complex to fully learn. There are so many ways to do the same process and no "Best Practice" advice from the education and training. Customizations are needed to fit company practices if there is a variation that isn't something the software can handle. Training users to fully use the extensive functionality is lengthy and time consuming. Additions and addons that seem like they should be part of any ERP are expensive to implement and add on. As an example, what modern system can't send an email unless you pay for an addon like the Advance Print Routings. This should be standard features and not add-ons.

The customization tools App Studio, BPMs, and BAQs are genuinely powerful once mastered. However, the learning curve is steep, and some integrations require paid add-ons that aren't obvious upfront. IT teams with development skills will get significantly more value out of it than those without. A solid 4-star platform that can feel like 5 depending on your team's technical depth.
PositiveApp Studio allows meaningful UI customization without touching source code. BAQs are flexible and support complex subqueries once you learn the patterns. BPMs and Data Directives enable powerful process automation with C# scripting. SSRS integration for reporting is solid. The platform is genuinely capable for manufacturing environments. Job costing, production tracking, and EDI integrations all work well when properly configured.
