What is LIMSey?

Engineering and manufacturing test labs run on shifting priorities. Requests arrive from across the company, jobs get bumped, equipment goes out of calibration, and the schedule lives in a spreadsheet only one person fully understands. LIMSey replaces that.

LIMSey is a cloud-based laboratory information management system (LIMS) built specifically for captive test labs inside manufacturers rather than clinical or pharmaceutical labs.

How it works:

Requesters submit test requests through a portal with custom fields per request type, then track status themselves instead of emailing the lab.

Jobs break into tasks with assigned people, equipment, and estimated durations. Configurable kanban boards show the whole lab at a glance, filtered however your team thinks about work.

The AutoScheduler assigns the soonest qualified technician and instrument to each task based on capability, duration, and priority, then recalculates automatically when a rush job lands or a technician is out.

Equipment records track calibration dates, maintenance history, and training requirements, with alerts before calibrations expire and full traceability to every job an instrument touched.

Test reports generate from templates that pull samples, results, images, and attachments directly from the job. PDF or Excel in one click.

Dashboards show turnaround time, throughput by technician, backlog, and equipment utilization.

Built for ISO 17025: complete audit trail, document control, corrective action tracking, and calibration traceability, all captured as work happens rather than assembled before an assessment.

    Summary

    LIMSey has been a great addition to our lab. Prior to implementation, we were using MS Excel to manage our lab testing. Management loves it and so do our auditors.

    LIMSey provides a management system for our product test lab that we could not find with the other LIMS available on the market. The others were designed for medical or biological labs and were not as cost efficient for our small lab. The customer service is excellent and they are always open to our suggestions for changes or improvements. They are very familiar with ISO 17025 requirements for laboratories and provide solutions to help us meet those requirements.

    Inability to print within the database. You can create a final test report, but the other pages (Jobs, Tasks, etc.) do not format well for printing.

    Summary

    My experience with LIMSey has been much better than some of the other major LIMS systems out there that I've used in the past. It is much easier to implement and has many great features to make laboratory management easier. This seems to the one of the best systems for small labs that are growing, because it's very easy to implement, it helps you maintain ISO 17025 compliance, and it's easy to train new technicians to the system.

    This software is very easy to use and requires very little training for new users. It has a lot of helpful features for ISO 17025 compliance, such as Preventive Maintenance, Document Control, Corrective Action system, etc. It is constantly being updated with new features to help manage laboratory operations. This LIMS is much more than just information management - it aims to manage many other aspects of your lab as well.

    The only drawback is that we can't store data locally, although they do have provisions for downloading your data.

    Thank you for the review. At this time we are a strictly web-based application and do not have plans in the near future of offering on-site installations. For other data assets like attachments (pictures, videos, documents, etc.), local storage and retrieval integration can become a bit tricky in regards to syncing so it's not something we've prioritized. However, you can provide links in the application to your local storage which should provide a similar experience without the complexities of syncing.
