What is M2L?

M2L is a comprehensive library management system that has become well-regarded among various libraries, including specialized, public, reference, and national institutions around the world. Launched in 1998, this system was developed with contributions from library professionals to specifically address the needs of small and medium-sized libraries. With its intuitive graphical interface that operates on Microsoft Windows™, M2L allows users to seamlessly input, import, export, and manage bibliographic data. It also facilitates automatic data downloads from reputable sources such as OCLC™, the Library of Congress, and AMICUS™, and is customizable to enable similar download capabilities from other national libraries and global databases. Initially designed for specialized and reference libraries, M2L has successfully attracted significant interest from public and lending libraries across the globe, signifying its growth beyond its original scope. This transformation underscores the system's flexibility and highlights the increasing necessity for all-encompassing library solutions across various environments, showcasing its relevance in an ever-evolving landscape.
