What is Medianizer?
Medianizer simplifies the management of your diverse media collection, including videos, music, games, and literature. By scanning through the folders on your computer or network, it creates an intuitive catalog complete with covers, images, filmographies, discographies, and other relevant details. If you have an extensive collection of Blu-rays, DVDs, physical books, and vinyl records, Medianizer can seamlessly handle all these formats. It supports a variety of media types, whether they are digital files, removable storage such as CDs, or physical items like books and records that aren’t accessible to a computer. Picture planning a family movie night with a range of films in different formats—such as video files, DVDs, and Blu-rays—and needing to determine which ones are suitable for your children without having to review each title individually. Thankfully, by launching Medianizer and entering your specific criteria—such as opting for PG-13 rated comedy films that you haven't seen yet—the software will generate a tailored list of appropriate movies from your collection, streamlining your viewing experience. This valuable feature not only conserves your time but also enriches the overall enjoyment of movie nights with your family, ensuring everyone finds something delightful to watch. Additionally, with its ability to keep track of your entire media library, you can easily rediscover forgotten favorites or explore new genres you may have overlooked.

Not worth the cost
Date: Jan 24 2025SummaryIt's a nice program over all, but it does crash every time I try to view all my music. The tech support is none existent. I've tried reaching out 3 times, never a response.
PositiveEasy to add media, the ability to do a list, the cover art view, and the ability to track all different media.
NegativeThe is zero tech support, the program constantly crashes, and lack of other ways to look up covers once the paid options are used up.

Might Have Been Great
Date: Oct 13 2025SummaryI absolutely loved the program when it worked as it should (which is why I bought the lifetime license), but after a year, maybe less, I found out they gave up on fixing the program and my $70 was all for nothing. Now hoping to find a suitable replacement which is not going well.
PositiveThe UI was nice. You get a side panel with your movies listed in alphabetical order and multiple ways to browse a selection. Once you've selected an movie, you would get a ton of information, photos, cast, date of release, etc.
You could then click on an actor and that would bring up a list of movies in your collection they were part of. It was really pretty slick and since I own more than 700 movies, it helped me leep track of where they are located, who I loaned them out to, and give me the option to print out a total list for a physical record.NegativeNot sure when, but I'm pretty sure that soon after I purchased a lifetime license, they closed up shop and no longer support the software. No updates to the software and questions go unanswered. I had problems with Windows 10 with crashes and the database would just disappear. Not ALL the time, but enough times to learn better than trust it. At times, it would run perfectly, but they were moments, fleeting moments. Adding your database back in to the program was impossible. Sometimes it would work but the photos were nothing but placeholders. Most of the time, after adding the database and restarting the program, it would lose the database again. Starting all over with logging each movie one at a time took days only to find out it was all for nothing.
