Ideal for Scalable and Flexible Cloud Infrastructure

    Date: Jan 22 2024
    Summary

In the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, Azure Virtual Machines offer a scalable and adaptable infrastructure solution. Its hybrid cloud capabilities, built-in security measures, and support for many operating systems make it an adaptable option for businesses with a range of infrastructure requirements.

    Positive

Azure Hybrid Services provide a smooth transition between cloud infrastructure and on-premises data centers. As a result, businesses may create hybrid solutions for application deployment, data storage, and backup.

    Negative

Effective usage of Azure virtual machines may need some understanding, particularly for those who are unfamiliar with cloud architecture. Users may need some time to become accustomed to Azure's extensive variety of services and customizations.

    Performant cloud infrastructure

    Date: Jul 12 2022
    Summary

Overall, Azure is a competitive offering in the cloud infrastructure space. Pricing is reasonable, performance is good, and it is highly configurable. However, support for non-Microsoft technologies and workflows is often second class.

    Positive

    Highly configurable cloud infrastructure.
    Many available layers of redundancy.
    Competitive pricing.
Free credits for getting started, if you have a visual studio subscription.

    Negative

Documentation is often hard to parse, especially for more complex setups suitable for production.
More in depth usage often requires formal training through Microsoft certification.
    Poor built in bot protection.
Over reliant on visual studio workflows.

A good cloud service that is rapidly evolving.

    Date: Mar 12 2022
    Summary

Businesses are becoming less dependent upon employees being on-premises in a central office, which adds reliability and uptime. Cloud-based web applications are easy to switch from on-premises to SaaS.

    Positive

I like Azure since they offer a lot of available locations that other cloud providers don't. It delivers features needed for microservices that are available and very easy to integrate. The same applications can be developed and deployed seamlessly.

    Negative

There is room for improvement in Azure's Cognitive Services, including using the most common templates. The cost of such an efficient cloud infrastructure could be a little higher, but that is the price you pay for such excellent services.

Azure is your gateway to the cloud

    Date: Mar 16 2022
    Summary

I would not hesitate to continue to recommend and use Microsoft products and its offerings. Though far from perfect, the speed that things are being brought to market and updated is to be commended.

    Positive

As my company has started its cloud journey, Microsoft has been at the forefront of a number of our initiatives. It has a very large and integrated ecosystem that allows us to bolt on what is needed when it is needed with relative ease.

    Negative

The one thing that you must be careful about is your cost. While things are easy to implement, costs can also easily ramp up if not kept in check.

Under any operating system Microsoft Azure allows you to create apps and more

    Date: Mar 30 2021
    Summary

It has certain security problems that need to be solved urgently, but leaving that aside, the application is a good choice for all application or software developers, since it offers clear and accessible tools under a very simple platform to carry out projects perfectly in this area.

    Positive

This program allows us to properly build, develop and manage applications based on its global data network. It gives us the necessary tools to develop both applications and software for computers or mobile devices. Counting with implementation, collaboration and complete development management to cover all the details involved in these procedures.

    Negative

While the projects are in the development phase where any error is significantly important the application does not provide access control functions to the developer platform. Due to programming errors we have lost progress and the application does not offer an integrated restore or backup. Also, it does not have a data modeling section.

    The future cloud!

    Date: Aug 18 2020
    Summary

Today you can manage entire companies remotely with the help of services like Azure. They have so many features built-in and hosted on the web that you will never have to look elsewhere.

    Positive

    - Azure just makes the whole Microsoft ecosystem complete. There's always the built-in OS support that small businesses look for since it takes away a lot of headaches for the non-techy users.

    Negative

    - Definitely requires a decent level of IT expertise to set up. If you don't have that, you'll be wasting time in training.

A great cloud infrastructure beyond Windows servers

    Date: Aug 24 2020
    Summary

Overall Microsoft Azure is a recommended cloud infrastructure. It is great for companies already in the Microsoft ecosystem and also a good choice for others who are looking for cloud migration.

    Positive

Microsoft Azure is a infrastructure as a service and is the default choice if looking to migrate application running on Windows server to cloud but it is more than just that. It provides a host of other services and supports Linux and container of you choice. The management interface is quite great and is welcoming for new users. High Scalability, reliability and availability make Azure a great choice.

    Negative

Pricing is a factor in which Azure needs to be more competitive in order to compete with similar services.

Not a Viable Solution for Nonprofits

    Updated: Sep 10 2020
    Summary

A very poor way to go for any nonprofit unless they are loaded with money (are there such things?). Not a viable service at all. Less than halfway through our first year on Azure, we now have to leave it. That is not what any nonprofit wants to have to do.

    Positive

The interface was fabulous compared, for example, to AWS. Much easier for a non-technical person to look through. A lot of online documentation that was very user-centric.

    Negative

Azure was a dreadful mistake for a small nonprofit. Microsoft proudly gave us an allowance of credits that would renew annually; USD3500. And that was kind. But the viability of it stopped on that first day.

Doing nothing but having an empty, unconfigured SQL database started - not used, just started ready to want to use - in just 4 months of the first 12 months, we had consumed the entire credit allowance.

There was no human help to get things done, so this is not friendly for a startup. You need to really know everything like a DevOps knows before you start.

This is not a solution for a nonprofit needing to actually do anything, and with limited technical people.

Drag and click GUI workflow for NLP, Image Recognition, etc.

    Date: Aug 21 2020
    Summary

I can definitely see why people who are already using Azure for their cloud hosted solutions will also use Azure for its chatbots, NLP, image recognition, and other AI/ML functionalities etc. too.

    Positive

Normally, if you wanted to train a neural network from scratch, you'd have to first get ahold of a large, well-labeled dataset, split it into test, validation, and training sets, train your model on the training set, compare it to the result you get when you run the model on the other sets, do some hyperparameter tuning and correct for overfitting etc... super involved and kinda messy. Azure's already trained models for most common use-cases and you don't even need to know how it works.

    Negative

The drag and drop interface isn't completely intuitive. I was following the tutorial for some of them and had to try a second time (which arrow goes where etc) before getting it to work. Still not too bad.

    Positive

Microsoft Azure provides very good cloud computing services for students, professionals and businesses. Creation of cloud machine is easy and owner can easily access their cloud machines from any device. Limited trial credits are also available by Microsoft Azure.

    Negative

The high end virtual machines are very costly and there are also data and bandwidth limits for users.

Easiest to deploy cloud computing service

    Date: Nov 23 2020
    Summary

Overall Microsoft Azure is good cloud computing service for new users as it provides a handful free trial and detailed guides for cloud configurations and setup.

    Positive

Microsoft Azure is the easiest to deploy cloud computing service with lot of configuration options and in house cloud applications to work on. The free version and free trials availability is another plus with Microsoft Azure for small testing of applications and making mind for upgrading to paid services as per your need and configurations.

    Negative

Paid services are not much cost effective and the cloud data limits ends more quickly than expectations.
