What is Moltbot?
Moltbot is a powerful personal AI assistant that goes beyond conversation by actively completing real-world digital tasks. It can clean inboxes, send and respond to emails, manage schedules, set reminders, and handle travel-related actions like flight check-ins. Moltbot operates entirely through chat apps you already use, including WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Signal, and iMessage. The assistant runs directly on your own machine, giving you full control over privacy, data, and infrastructure. Moltbot supports multiple AI providers as well as local models, making it flexible and future-proof. Its persistent memory allows it to remember your preferences, habits, and ongoing projects across conversations. With browser control, Moltbot can navigate the web, fill forms, scrape data, and interact with online services automatically. Full system access lets it read and write files, run shell commands, and execute scripts safely or in sandboxed mode. Moltbot is fully extensible through plugins and skills, many of which are built and shared by the community. Users can also create custom skills or ask Moltbot to build them autonomously. This makes Moltbot feel less like a chatbot and more like a personal operating system. As an open and hackable platform, Moltbot continues to evolve rapidly with its growing community.

Moltbot is CRAZY!
Date: Jan 27 2026SummaryMoltbot feels like the first AI assistant that crosses the line from “helpful” to “indispensable.” It’s not a demo, and it’s not hype... it works. After one week, it’s already part of my daily workflow. This is what personal AI was supposed to be.
PositiveAfter a week of using Moltbot as a technical user, the biggest win is that it actually does things. Inbox cleanup, sending emails, managing my calendar, even flight check-ins... all handled from WhatsApp or Telegram without friction. The architecture is impressive. It runs locally, keeps data private, and has persistent memory that genuinely works. Full system access, browser control, and the ability to write or extend its own skills makes it feel more like a personal OS than a chatbot. Integration is absurdly good. I’m triggering real workflows from chat while away from my desk, and it reliably executes them on my machine. That shift alone is huge.
NegativeThere’s a learning curve if you want to push it hard. The power is there, but new users may need some time to internalize what’s possible and how to structure tasks effectively. Because it’s so capable, guardrails and sandboxing decisions matter. You need to be comfortable thinking about permissions and system access like an engineer.
