Great low cost billing software for healthcare providers
Date: Feb 05 2026SummaryOverall my experience with Service Center and Office Ally has been superb. Still use it regularly after 7 years in practice and will continue to use for the foreseeable future. 10/10 would recommend to healthcare providers especially chiropractors who have very simple claims billing needs. Makes more sense to submit claims internally when it is only a fraction of the practice instead of hiring a billing agency that works in a percentage basis.
PositiveService Center is the electronic claims clearinghouse for hundreds of insurance plans. It has a very simple user interface with a low learning curve. It is very easy to set up. You can create unlimited number of templates which can be reused on multiple claims of the same diagnoses and/or CPT codes.
NegativeThe new interface is a bit confusing. However they allow you to toggle back to “classic” view of the site. There is a flat fee is $39.99 that is charged if you bill to non-participating plans in the given month. This is charged the same whether you bill 5 or 500 times. Can be costly for providers that are just starting out and may not have the volume of non-participating plans to make the $39.99 fee worthwhile.

Long-time user, now looking for alternatives
Date: Dec 16 2025SummaryDisappointed about removal of complimentary non-par payor submission allowance below 50% submission for small practice and low volume.
PositiveOA is able to interface with older software. I like that they are based in the Pacific Northwest. They have improved the look of the interface recently.
NegativeNew pricing is not competitive for small practices who only submit few claims to non-participating Payors. The recent new fee increase (January 1, 2026) of approximately $48/month for submitting fewer than 30 claims to various payers will create extra work for us, as we will need to deal with several Clearinghouses, until we again find a single-point-of-contact clearinghouse with fair pricing for our low volume.

PositiveI started using Office Ally in our business about a dozen years ago. We have a billing service. Office Ally offers a superior product because the practice management system (PMS) is integrated with the clearinghouse. I've used many types of PMSs over my 40 years in the field and with other systems that don't have their own clearinghouse, there are issues with the integration of the clearinghouse . Some PMSs, don't even bill secondary claims. Office Ally support is also superior. They answer the phone in a short period of time and can remote in if there are issues.
NegativeI would add some reports to the system and expand on the EHR.

Enjoying the update

Customer service is excellent, very helpful, and I love I can use the online chat as it's difficult to be on the phone during business hours. Four stars because I don't have experience with any other clearinghouse to compare but from what others have commented on social media, OA costs less and as far as we're concerned, provides everything we need.

Improvement on old interface

PositiveEverything sorted into larger groupings, so workflow improved. Nicer design elements make applications appear more modern and easier to access.
NegativeStill needs a few tweaks to enhance user experience, and some built in tools, like a remittance viewer would be a big benefit.
