DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
Date: Jan 09 2025SummaryDO NOT buy from this company. A lot of their options for edits DO NOT work! I purchased it to give it a try because I wanted another option from SEDJA, which does work...But wanted to try something else also.
PositiveNONE. This system did not do what I purchased it for.=
NegativeThe Flattening option didn't work AT ALL, so I immediately tried to cancel and these people WILL NOT REFUND MY MONEY.

Bad experience with PDF Candy
Date: Mar 06 2025SummaryBad. I definitely would not recommend it to anyone. Just the name makes you suspicious. Also, I could not talk to anyone about the problem. Just emails back and forth.
PositiveAdvertised as a really good pdf editor. The few times I used it, I enjoyed it. It does what the acrobat editor does at a much lower cost.
NegativePaid 99 dollars for the lifetime use of the pdf editor. It was a rip off. I used it for about a month and then they told me I had used it on a second device. That was not true. So the bottom line is I used the 99 dollar product 2-3 times, and that was all I could use it for. Bad purchase. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.

Very poor quality conversions
Updated: Aug 11 2024SummaryFrustrating.
It's implied that if you aren't satisfied you can get a refund within thirty days. Good luck with that.PositiveThe graphics look and sound user friendly. The upside in my experience is that I now know I can convert a word to PDF without any additional programs by using Microsoft print to PDF.
NegativeIt only looks and sounds user friendly. In actually it's worthless to me.

I need to be able to convert a word doc to a JPG . First I tried converting to PDF and then used PDF to JPG. The conversions were not the same as the original. The tech support told me it was because I used the draw app. I did not use the draw app.
Support said, in order to convert a word to pdf, I had to first use Microsoft print to PDF and then to use their PDF to PNG. What good is a PNG when there is no PNG to JPG option?
In Adobe I could actually edit a PDF page i.e. remove text. It appears that is not a function of PDF Candy. If it is there, it's not an obvious method. -

Waste of Money
Date: Jul 26 2022SummaryTerrible App. Does not perform as they state- liars and thieves who will do anything to take your money and run. Not compatible with Mac- rendering desktop version useless and you will still have to use Adobe anyways.
PositiveVery little- Adobe free trial is more useful. You can semi-edit some filed on the website but overall this just is not the solution for anyone.
NegativeNo desktop version. No way to open files automatically. Overpriced screen page.

Misleading Ads for Desktop Version
Date: Sep 01 2022SummaryI tried rearranging the pages of a PDF on the website, and it prompted me to use the desktop version, since I'd exceeded the file size limit. Looking at the array of functions it listed in addition to the 'edit without limits' ad, I thought it would be a good investment for a project I'm working on. Unfortunately, after paying and unlocking the software, I discovered that it didn't actually include the rearrange pages functionality in the copy I downloaded. Again, despite being directed there from the rearrange pages function with an ad saying I could edit without limits on the desktop version. It also wouldn't let me use any of the program's features on the PDF I made with the software.
Do not purchase this software. I feel like a fool.PositiveIt could make PDFs from images, although the customization was limited and the PDF I made turned out to be uneditable even with their own software.
NegativeExpensive, missing the features it used to advertise the purchase to me, breaks when a file is too large despite every page saying that there are no limits on the desktop version. Sent a two sentence form letter and then did not follow up when I reported errors.

Missing key functions
Date: Mar 29 2021SummaryGood for file conversions but missing key editing features. The paid version is definitely not worth the money. Use the free online version.
PositiveCool interface. I like the way it lists multiple programs to be merged. It has multiple conversion options.
NegativeIt does not have a native PDF viewer function. To see the results of your edit you need to open a browser or a separate PDF app.

It does not allow you to crop single pages of a PDF. You would need to extract the page, crop it, save it and then merge it back into the original document. Who has time for that?
The OCR function is NOT what you expect! It does NOT create a searchable, editable PDF. Instead it converts your PDF to a TXT file without any of the original formatting or images. Who needs that?
Finally, don't pay for the desktop version! For a few more bucks you can get something much better like Foxit Phantom.
