Percona Server for MongoDB Reviews

Percona Server for MongoDB is an upgraded open source and uncommonly adaptable database that may go probably as a suitable drop-in trade for MongoDB Community Edition anyway with similar semantic structure and plan.

Their Data-at-Rest Encryption and Percona Memory Engine are my favorite features. Both of them are what I need to extend the capabilities of MongoDB Community Edition.

I don't have any worries for the highlights and functionalities, but I believe they have a huge home work in promotion & marketing area.

Percona Server for MongoDB is a free and open source. Many features and benefits of MongoDB Community Edition with enterprise class features from Percona.

Its Server for MongoDB provides flexible data structure
Great support and community support.
Scalability, and developer-friendly syntax.

Nothing to cons about, it's a great open source application.

Overall experience is great. Central Authentication, Auditing, Additional storage engines , Mongo Rocks and hop backing up features truly serves a great user experience.

One of the best feature is that it is schema-free and have a long list of supported programming languages like C,C++, Java, Perl, Dart, Javascript, Lua, PHP etc. It provides awesome support for making data persistant and all the structures can be held in memory.

I neither provides XML nor SQL support, which most users use for database maintenance.

Overall its excellent product even if it is open source. It's the database server which has the capacity to pioneer next generation data revolution.

The problem of using complex syntax has been solved for me. This product has a very easy to use syntax which makes me like it even more.

This product has a simple configuration, easy to use, scalable and secure. The best part about this product is that it is open source.

All the features are useful for me. I haven't faed any problem and I have no reason to dislike this product.

It is always good to learn new things and its good to have Percona as one among them.

Product documentation can be little more improved so that even the beginners can understand it. Rest all is perfect.

A reliable and fast solution for any db needs of a small to a big company i handles big data with ease.

Ease of use and speed in deploying solutions and working along side with other solutions as Alteryx.

Not much maybe the pricing and the licensing of the product.

We have been using the Percona Server for MongoDB as an alternative for MongoDB for our Rocket.chat installation. We now effectively manage the internal team communication using Rocket.chat and Percona server.

Percona Server for MongoDB is perfect for our setup. Nothing to dislike so far.

Overall I will say it's a good product with wide usage in the industry.

- I think that documentation should have more videos depicting the usage of the product more clearly

The overall experience was better than I expected. The installation went smoothly and I was up and running in no time.

As far now I found nothing wrong with Percona Server for MongoDB.

Overall at the end of the day, it does the given job perfectly without any errors, if you want to use it and new to it, I suggest you to not to have a second thought and go for it.

Being a Software Developer for me always the Backend part is a head ache issue for me. Before this I used MySQL for my clients and to be honest my clients as well as me were not satisfied with it. I need to properly Customize it carefully. But after this i find that job a bit less harder that it was being at that time.
Its Open Source , that means when ever i am facing a error i can see what is the code of source.
The Developers are really supportive in terms of problem solving.
Easy to use and much better if compared with Oracle MySQL server.
It is highly efficient and all the process happens very smoothly. In my opinion it is the best server for MongoDB.

User Inferface can be improved, may be the get started session can be a bit more improved.
In documentation a video sample could be provided.

Sometimes it lags for a bit but that might be an issue from my side, not sure about it right now.
Documentation can be a bit more user friendly by using short videos or images.
As a UI designer I think User Interface and User Experience needs more improvements.

Overall working of Percona server is amazing. It's highly scalable and compatible. One of the best thing is as it is open source so many other people can contribute too and extend it to the advanced level.

It's highly scalable and easily compatible. Also, it's easy to integrate and maintain. It has most in-demand features too, like encryption and all.

As such I haven't found any cons working with it. However, some optimization can be done in features as a secondary requirement.

Working with Percona server is fun and easy. You can start quick and extend your knowledge fast. It is also open source what makes is pretty beautiful.

We have used MongoDB in our production environment on Kubernetes. Since our application has grown, we searched for an enterprise drop in and had found Percona server. It is easy to set up and deploy in our cluster. There was not much work to do for the migration.

The docs could be improved a little, but it is not a problem where you cannot deal with.

It has amazing features and would recommend everyone to give it a try once. I am sure one will surely love it.

There are lot of things like scalability, easy syntax, data encryption at rest etc which inspired me to do hands-on with Percona MondoDB server.

I couldn't find any cons so far, but updates should be provided more often.
