What is ProofSnap?
ProofSnap is a specialized platform designed to capture and authenticate digital evidence specifically for legal professionals, investigators, journalists, and compliance teams who require effective preservation of online content. The platform includes extensions for both Chrome and Edge, enabling users to capture a wide array of currently viewed pages in their browsers, encompassing standard websites, logged-in accounts, and chat sessions. Through its web dashboard and REST API, users can obtain public URLs either one by one, in groups, according to a schedule, or activated by specific content changes. Each evidence package produced comprises a detailed full-page screenshot, along with associated HTML, text, metadata, and network logs, all accompanied by a SHA-256 manifest, an RSA-4096 signature, a timestamp, and comprehensive chain-of-custody documentation. Users can also verify these packages, compare captures, redact confidential information, certify file hashes, and manage evidence related to legal cases while maintaining legal holds. Plans may offer additional features, such as video recording and qualified eIDAS timestamps, depending on user needs. A remote MCP server allows for connections with compatible AI assistants, streamlining the capturing process and enhancing overall efficiency. Moreover, the dashboard, API, and extension operate under separate accounts and plans, providing tailored experiences for different users and ensuring that their unique requirements are met effectively. This adaptability makes ProofSnap a versatile tool in the realm of digital evidence management.
