refbase
Seamlessly manage references with versatile import/export capabilities!refbase is a web-based, platform-independent reference database for managing scientific literature and citations. The software provides a multi-user interface so research groups, libraries, departments, and institutions can manage bibliographic records collaboratively. refbase supports importing and exporting references in a wide range of formats, including BibTeX, EndNote, RIS, PubMed, ISI Web of Science, CSA Illumina, RefWorks, MODS XML, OpenOffice, and MS Word. Users can create formatted citation lists in HTML, RTF, PDF, or LaTeX. The platform includes powerful searching so users can locate references across the database more efficiently. RSS support helps users track updates and reference activity. refbase also provides OpenSearch and SRU/W web services for easier access by external clients and systems. Its support for unAPI and COinS metadata helps make citation data accessible to search engines and compatible tools. The software can be downloaded from SourceForge, with stable releases available alongside source code from the refbase Subversion repository. Demo databases and documentation are available for users who want to test the system, install it, update it, or troubleshoot their setup. By combining online reference management, multi-user access, citation formatting, import and export tools, search, RSS, web services, and metadata support, refbase helps organizations manage scientific literature through an accessible web interface.
