Overall the experience with SearchStax was bitter sweet. Other leadership felt that integration a different SaaS provider that had connectors and ML configurations to improve search capabilities is causing us to plan the sunset of the tool once migration occurs to new strategic Enterprise Search solution.

We really liked the potential that the solution could provide, however, and specifically the support that they provide online.

Pricing structure was prohibitive to maintain as we host several very small files and are licensed by that volume. Other solutions were actually query based.

Overall, it has been a pleasure to work with SearchStax and put search on customer sites on steroids.

I am not sure I see any cons. As a developer I naturally prefer using a native service for the ultimate control, but search performance, features and reliability will always tend to be inferior, so I am willing to give up some control.

SearchStax is a great tool that provides insight in most popular searches, click through rate and indicates how the content can be customized and built around the results.

Not having the possibility to increase number of search results per category and being limited to 10 results is a downside in my opinion.

Positive overall as it been very easy to integrate with Sitecore. I was a little upset over the overage charges. I also think the overage model is massively flawed and doesn't provide enough incentive to right size.

Really easy to spin up indexes in SearchStax and let them handle the hard work so I can focus on the development.

Occasionally notice latency traveling to indexes for editors in Sitecore. The surprise overage charges out of nowhere.
