What is Sessionplan?

Sessionplan is a user-friendly, online tool designed for creating visual agendas, making it an ideal choice for various types of gatherings such as workshops, training sessions, meetings, and events.

The platform enables users to arrange their sessions into an interactive timeline that includes blocks for Input, Exercise, Discussion, and Break, automatically calculating start and end times based on the initial time set. Users can effortlessly modify the order of blocks using a drag-and-drop feature, with all time adjustments reflecting in real time.

Furthermore, it allows for the grouping of similar blocks, organizing parallel breakout sessions, and saving elements in a personal library, while recurring formats can be stored as templates for ease of future planning. Agendas can easily be shared via a link or exported as a JSON file for added convenience.

No account creation is necessary, and since the platform operates locally without cloud storage, users benefit from an ad-free environment where all data remains private within their browser. It is offered for free indefinitely and can also be used offline after the initial load.

This tool proves to be particularly advantageous for trainers, coaches, facilitators, Scrum Masters, and educators who wish to construct their agendas efficiently and clearly, ultimately improving the organization and effectiveness of their sessions. Additionally, its intuitive design ensures that users can quickly adapt their plans to meet the dynamic needs of their audiences.

Made my workshop planning a lot easier (and is free)

    Date: May 10 2026
    Summary

I stumbled across Sessionplan when I was looking for a free alternative to SessionLab and honestly haven't looked back. It does exactly what it promises, helps you build a clean, visual agenda without any of the usual SaaS nonsense like forced accounts or paywalled features.
I use it for workshops and training sessions regularly now. It's not the fanciest tool out there, but it's simple, reliable, and free. That's really all I needed.

    Positive

    - Drag and drop is super smooth, times update automatically which saves a lot of headache
    - No sign-up needed, you just open it and start
    - Completely free, no "upgrade to Pro" popups or anything like that
    - Love that everything stays in my browser. Apparently no data going anywhere
    - Sharing via link is really handy when you need to send the agenda to a client

    Negative

Not much tbh. Had a small scare when I cleared my browser cache and lost a plan.. definitely use the dynamic link or export your JSON regularly.
Also I would love to try the collaboration feature with a co-facilitator in real time.
