Slackware 15
Updated: Feb 18 2022SummaryI hopped from distro to distro for several years then discovered Slackware based system and eventually educated myself to the original. Have never looked back. I often try other systems out of interest, but Slackware is my production operating system.
PositiveExtremely stable even the rolling version (current) is more stable than most production systems. Does not alter upstream packages unless absolutely necessary. It follows a consistent Unix base so you learn Gnu Linux linearly and your knowledge is generic.
NegativeIt is not suitable for users who are unwilling to learn some terminal commands and how the system works behind fluffy GUIs.
