It's a really great system, it's well maintained the support has been awesome I've been troubleshooting plugin issues with the SlickStack team, they're really helpful as is their growing community.

It's very easy to setup. Get a KVM server, load ubuntu, run 1 line of script and everything else is automated. Makes a super fast NGINX WordPress environment, sets up SSL certificate with Cloudflare ready to use. And it's so much faster than normal hosting. I've moved a bunch of websites like www.groundswellwash.com.au which is a very bloated site (i didn't develop it) to a SlickStack KVM server and the performance went up 30-50% it's now way faster and the customer is enjoying a better conversion rate. I've also hosted websites all using SlickStack and they are so fast to use it's awesome. I won't use any other stack.

SlickStack is super security and performance focused so getting A+ security headers is awesome. But the security can prevent some plugins from functioning, the crazy thing is that this is usually because the plugin developers haven't followed best practice which is good to know but can make using some plugins you're used to no longer work. I took this as an opportunity to source better plugins.

Free, extremely fast LEMP stack, Wordpress dedicated built with fool-proof scripts in mind. Great alternative to any other similar stack I used in the past.

The install was a breeze! The documentation and the wizard are extremely easy to follow.

Slickstack is fool-proof. Built with security in mind, lots of automated checks (including backups), easy to “get back to square one” if you miss or do something wrong, altought most certanly you won’t.

I managed to get a server up and running and get an almost perfect score on Pagespeed (the theme is also geavily optimized) in less than 1h.

The support is great and the best thing about it, the entire stack is free.

Tried easyengine, webinoly, or paid tools like Runcloud - Slickstack beat them hard.

Definitely recommend it if you need a stable LEMP stack, dedicated for Wordpress with security and all sorts of other improvements.

I have nothing to say far. Everything went well, the guys were very quick and supportive on Discord.

This is my minimal yet powerful tool that ensure that my site is online, secure and up to date! One time setup and then run forever... well not forever but at least until now without problems, and its almost 2 years!

It automatizes a lot of the processes while keeping everything up to date, secure and at hand. It is lightweight and gets not in the way which is also a very important aspect for a tool! Leaves you more time to focus on the Wordpress tier while knowing that the basis below is in good hands!

Shell/Script/Bash knowledge is required and there is a learning curve to it. There is no fancy-glancy interface but this I can note also as a pro ;-)

Overall an amazing experience, I have found immediate results in speed and SEO. The support is great, if you ever run into issues you can always ask the maintainer for help. Everything is open source with a very strong focus on reliability and optimization. Just set and forget. I have moved all my existing websites over to using SlickStack and don't plan on changing. If anyone is on the fence about this, I say, take the leap. You wont regret it.

- While setup is great, it could be daunting for users that aren't familiar with command line.

In my opinion SlickStack is the option to go for if you have basic linux knowledge and want to set up a WordPress website the quick and easy way.

Very easy to set things up!
Basically enter all the important informations when prompted, wait about 10-15 minutes and there you go, your WordPress site is up and running and fully functional.
Everything is very fast and working perfectly fine.

Honestly, I can't really think of any cons, it does what it's supposed to.

This is a great way to get super fast WP hosting.
I have tried every solution out there and SlickStack is amazing if you don't mind a bit of command line admin.

There is no easier, quicker way to deploy WordPress if you're semi competent at server admin etc. It's free, it's updated often, just try it (and forget about the dodgy alternatives that are just bloated laggy garbage)

Lightweight, incredibly quick. I am a WordPress developer and love showing off SlickStack working on a $5 a month server. I power a WooCommerce website with it that has over a million products. Server costs? $25 a month.

I like the idea behind the blacklist in general - far too many software companies are 'woke' and ruining the internet. But I would suggest perhaps making it more of a watchlist rather than blacklist i.e. show a warning rather than prevent. Otherwise, it sounds a bit preachy. That's my only negative.

Ten out of ten for Jesse as developer and support for the product, and we would recommend his services and product knowledge to all who considers SlickStack and receive top support for the product.

This is not a product review, but a response to the work done by Jesse, author of SlickStack.io, who we had the fortune of contracting for a task we urgently needed to be done. We are very satisfied with SlickStack since moving our website to the new hosting service. Jesse was super professional in his dealing with us. He has not only helped us move our WP website from one of the big hosting services to a much faster and free service; he was also extremely helpful in reviewing our WP website and suggesting changes to function better. But since this job was completed months ago he was always available for assistance and solid advice with subsequent issues we have experienced while contracting other developers for different tasks. He never billed us for his sound advice and sharing his deep knowledge of WP and its inner workings. He is the professional developer that you can only dream of when you are looking for expert freelance work. We'll recommend Jesse without hesitation.

As a small company with limited budget it is a pity we can't afford Jessie's services full time. With SlickStack we can't find fault since implementation.

I have tested many stacks with out of box configuration over the time. I only find SlickStack to be worthy. Rest of them put in a lot of dependencies (which brings in another set of bugs & security issues), proprietary stuff going berserk time to time and introducing new security holes and the tools they put in consuming too much of server resources.

I don't typically write reviews but I had to applaud this server script. I have had so many issues with my website over the years and switching to SlickStack has made a huge difference. It has also saved me a lot of time and money. SlickStack's creator, Jesse Nickles was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He was honest, extremely helpful, professional, and very knowledgeable. He also explained everything to me very clearly and answered all my many questions (not everyone in this industry does that!). I recommend SlickStack without reservation, I just wish I had found it sooner!

Honestly, I have not found any cons with SlickStack thus far. I am super happy with it.

Great. I will be using SlickStack as an alternative to Litespeed as from our testing it seems at the very least as fast if not better.

Fast and cheap deployment for people trying to have the best performance possible from a cheaper VPS or Dedicated server.

Sometimes difficult to see what changes have happened and what this means in the config files.
Smaller developer base so cant always get changes as quickly as i would like, however the changes are always taken into consideration.
Needed to rethink our plugin usage as we had previously used some of the Banned plugins. However the speed boost from removing these was obvious immediately.

This stack is awesome.
You'll be able to launch a full website in less than 5 minutes on a 10 dollar instance or droplet.
I have a very basic know-how of linux/ubuntu but was able to get this setup without any issue.

Simple to use, easy to manage and get support when needed - it has been the best one to use out of the several I tested.

Great out of the box setup, configureable with many options and security is the number one focus during setup, I haven't been able to find a similar one that sets up security automatically.

Need to let the user manage and update as required/when ready.

I am using SlickStack for almost 3 years now on multiple WordPress & WooCommerce installations reaching +200.000 users per month.

The performance of my online stores have always been fantastic. The entire stack is constantly updated and the community is really active and always there for any help. I can recommend SlickStack for any WordPress or WooCommerce installation. I am a big fan!

This is by far the best LEMP stack ever. I am very satisfied, use it on >10 servers, works like a charm.
