It's very easy to use. The API interface is great and the documentation is super helpful. The feature set is really complete too. We haven't found the limit for Smarty yet.

Overall a great product. We intend to continue to use smarty. Ideally we could use pay as you go pricing, but that is not implemented yet. Also international validation for addresses is too expensive for our use case.

For three years, I’ve used Smarty across two Florida organizations to validate addresses and calculate patient-to-care distances, while also identifying invalid contact data for health plans. Due to fluctuating monthly enrollment, I would highly benefit from rolling over unused lookup credits, along with fewer clicks to access the tool.

For the last 3 years, and across 2 different organizations that service populations across Florida, we have used Smarty to validate addresses as well as to help calculate distances between the patients' home and the optimal point of care. In addition, we can quickly advise the health plan to invalid addresses in combination with phone numbers that are either missing or invalid.

Currently, Smarty doesn't allow for carry-over of all or a percentage of unused lookups. This would be great because we have variation in our month-to-month patient enrollment. Being able to rollover the lookups we've paid for would be ideal.
Perhaps they could also reduce the clicks needed to access lookup tool - not a big deal at all.

We've been running it for the past few months and we haven't had a problem, helps prevent human error and makes entry go smoothly.

I used to recommend them all the time, but now I won't anymore. It's unfortunate, they had a really great thing going and killed any goodwill they had with me with their ultra-confusing pricing.

Their new pricing structures are insanely confusing. Not sure why they went away from simple, transparent pricing, but the new setup has me looking for alternatives. Support, while prompt, is borderline rude and unhelpful.

Our organization has been using Smarty Cloud APIs for many years. We have implemented many of their products, including address validation and autocomplete. We use them for various use cases, ranging from front-end, client-facing intake forms to backend batch processing for addresses that need to be standardized. What impresses me most is the ease of implementation for my team and the speed of the APIs. We attempted to implement other address validation APIs in the past, but the datasets were often incomplete and/or outdated.

Fast, easy to implement, and live support is provided by real people who are quick to resolve technical issues and answer questions.

Not much. Pricing can be a bit high, and it would be nice if they offered retention discounts on renewals.

We need address verification in our business to curate our direct mail marketing mailing lists. It's in the hundreds daily which makes verification by hand impractical. Smarty provides an easy to use, flexible, and powerful tool to ensure a degree of precision that helps us process hundreds of addresses every day, real time, without bogging down personnel with tedious tasks.

The provided documentation is very good and the use is straightforward. I have never, ever had any issues with this service, and it's been running for over a year as of this review.

- It's reliable. We use several APIs for our marketing pipeline and so far Smarty is the only one that has never, ever, given us issues
- It's easy to use. Setting up took me less than an hour and it has never made me go back to fix anything. Provided documentation is very good
- It's fast. Validating an address is in the single digit seconds time span and its absolutely necessary when you are processing in the thousands

- Errs on the side of caution. While not a fault of Smarty proper but USPS' own data, some addresses are flagged as invalid despite being valid mailing targets. Still, it results in a handful of addresses a day that are flagged as invalid while being valid

We have used Smarty for nearly a decade as part of our enterprise Offender Management System platform, and it has consistently proven to be a reliable and flexible solution for address autocomplete, verification, standardization, and geocoding. One of the biggest strengths of the platform is the quality and consistency of the APIs. We have integrated Smarty across multiple technical environments, including Java services, .NET backend processes, scheduled batch jobs, GIS workflows, and browser-based web applications, all using the same core REST endpoints.

The services are stable, performant, and easy to consume from a development standpoint. The address validation and autocomplete capabilities significantly improve data quality and reduce user entry errors, while the geocoding services support routing, mapping, and operational analysis workflows.

Another major positive is that Smarty continues to evolve its offerings and improve data quality over time. Their technical support team has also been responsive and knowledgeable whenever we have needed assistance.

The primary limitation we have encountered with Smarty relates more to account administration and reporting than to the core services themselves. While the APIs and address intelligence capabilities are strong, the usage reporting available to administrators can feel somewhat broad and aggregated, especially in larger enterprise environments with multiple applications or API consumers.

More granular analytics and reporting capabilities would be helpful for monitoring usage trends, identifying specific consumption patterns, troubleshooting spikes in traffic, and supporting internal cost tracking or forecasting activities. Additional dashboarding and filtering options at the API or application level would improve visibility for organizations managing larger-scale integrations.

We would also welcome continued expansion of tooling and administrative features around account management and operational monitoring. That said, these concerns have not materially impacted the reliability or effectiveness of the actual address validation and geocoding services, which have consistently performed well for us.

A great tool that makes our constituent online experience more streamlined . It takes away the need for them to have to complete multiple address fields manually on our online forms.

The ease of entering just three characters in the first line of the address field and address results are listed, is great. The addresses are validated with USPS so correct info is then prepopulated.

Only con is from a package perspective, and that being that the tier we had to purchase is way too high and the tier below is not enough total searches.

Choosing, integrating, and deploying Smarty into all our platforms (where necessary) was simple and straightforward. As a user for over 7 years we have had almost zero technical issues with this product.

As a retail business that ships for a majority of our sales having accurate address information from our customers was important. The Smarty API made integrating address validation into our existing eCommerce platform and point of sale system easy and seamless. With the integration of Smarty to our platforms we have increased data input accuracy with little to no impact on customers. The result is vastly improved data accuracy and improved deliverability of shipped products.

I have no real Cons. It would be nice if the billing tiers would have a little more granular pricing.

Address coverage can improve, and auto-correction for minor input errors would be helpful.

I work for a large US distribution company. For a long time, we shipped product via our own trucks, but we made the switch to third-party carriers such as FedEx and UPS. As soon as we made the switch, we immediately saw large address correction fees from both carriers. Smarty helped us quickly validate all our addresses, and it reduced these charges.

Batch uploads. Able to validate thousands of addresses within minutes.
Accurate recommendations. If we try to validate an invalid address, Smarty will flag it and suggest the correct address.
Excellent customer service.

For the most part, the website is easier to navigate, but there are times when you have to look through different pages to find what you are looking for.
