What is TeraCopy?

TeraCopy actively seeks to recover any errors encountered during file copying, and if it fails to do so, it will bypass the problematic file. Additionally, it has the capability to pause and wait for a device or network reconnection, enhancing the reliability of the transfer process. To improve efficiency, users can choose to skip files that are not essential for the transfer. The application will provide a report of any errors it identifies, enabling users to remedy these issues by recopying only the affected files. TeraCopy also features a verification option that checks copied files for accuracy by comparing their hashes against the originals. Furthermore, the program can prompt a confirmation dialog for each drag-and-drop action, which helps prevent unintended folder relocations. Users can benefit from a history of recently accessed directories, and TeraCopy can display folders that are currently open in Explorer or other file management applications, further facilitating user navigation and file management. This multifaceted functionality makes TeraCopy a valuable tool for efficient and reliable file transfers.

Trash. Deletes files on move, then doesn't move them

    Date: Jul 24 2026
    Summary

Deleted Teracopy. It is trash. If a program, any program, deletes files without warning you first, then it's nothing more than malware. This is malware

    Positive

There are none. There is no advantage to a program that deletes your files without informing you. I find no speed benefit and the updates have made following transfers far more confusing than windows file copy

    Negative

Connected my windows PC to my Samsung phone. Made the mistake of asking Teracopy to move my files instead of windows. Teracopy promptly deleted files from the phone and failed to move them
