For the past twenty years the application has grown over time at a slower pace than what is happening in the industry. However, it is still a contender because of price and the flexibility of working with the developers. For small to mid-organizations, you will find it robust enough to do most if not all of what you need. For rather large organizations, you may find it lacking when it comes to reporting, financials, and efficiencies for a large data load.

Refresh of data is live and more responsive now.
Compared to other options the price is right for what you get.
Smaller company affords more flexibility and better interaction for enhancements.

Not keeping up with the fast past changes in the tech space currently.
Lacking some innovation for more advance features.
Labor intensive regarding data input.
Needs more automation, less steps to ensure a more efficient operation.
Missing an archive feature to improve performance for closed projects.

ToolHound (formerly Houndware) has been at the core of DataDrill's business since mid-2000's. We have used it not only to track equipment within the warehouse and various storage areas, but also with rental clients which has given us the ability to accurately invoice for that rental equipment. TH representatives have always been responsive and helpful whenever we needed it.

The flexibility of the system when moving equipment. We are able to use Bluetooth barcode scanners on Android phones as well as the built-in phone cameras themselves to scan barcodes. Having the ability to auto-return equipment from one entity when issuing to another entity has been critical in locating equipment real-time.

There are limits with the reporting depending how granular you want to get with criteria. However, the ability to output broad results to Excel and then further filter those results is a plus.

I was part of the team who set up and integrated ToolHound to work with our existing procedures and practices in place. This software has been a great asset to our group, with better management of our tools, equipment and consumables, along with the ease of tracking tool life and replacement.
The billing option works well with our accounting system, keeping our end job costs accurate and in a timely manner. The reporting options available allows us to analyze data quickly to determine the decision to buy tools or equipment ourselves rather than renting from outside companies when and where possible.

Software is built for the end user and is easy to work with. Also comes with great ToolHound Support in place. No complaints as ToolHound Team are very knowledgeable and customer service driven, listen and assist with solutions.

No Cons with this product as ToolHound are consistently looking at the needs of the end customers and adapting where and when needed.

Overall i am pleased with the purchase of the system the robustness for this compared to Alltrack has been good and they are always updating the system and sending out whats new. ToolHound takes pride in delivering results that the customer is asking for.

Ease of getting data imported in and out of the system.

Faster than a lot of other systems to see where all the same tool items are located.

It has a learning curve but with some questions and some insight you can roll through it pretty painlessly.

My overall experience with ToolHound has been completely satisfactory. with the provided training to kickstart the introduction. we have over 12000 assets that we track and move from place to place. I will add that the report section is an amazing tool that easily generates the information I need to see what I have and where.

User friendly software with an outstanding customer support center. ToolHound has given me the ease and comfort of knowing exactly where all my companies assets are. ToolHound can definitely be a valuable asset to anyone who needs to monitor where their assets are or control inventory.

Honestly the biggest issue I have with ToolHound is not having access to it sooner. I couldn't imagine keeping track of assets without it.

Overall a great addition to fleet inventory and reconciliation. Would like to have a better integration to our current fleet programming but understand that the two systems will not be able to talk together due to licensing and intellectual property.

Cloud based service was nice for oversight from a distance. Pulling reports for review was nice as well.

Internal system integration and ease of use for novice users.

ToolHound has greatly improved inventory visibility, utilization and data integrity. It has allowed B&W to modernize our processes and procedures and expand out business model to track tools right down to the worker leading to reduced tool losses and improved efficiency across the organization

The ease of initial startup (Data import capabilities) as well as the user interface over all. The ability to quickly update product data and have it correlate to all modules is amazing. The ability to see nation wide inventory and view transaction history far exceeds my expectations.

I'm not very familiar with the "Transaction Rentals" module and would like to see more of a "Quote" or "Estimate" capability when providing rental rates for future work/ Customers.

Overall ToolHound has been an excellent experience for my team and me and I hope to see more improvements.

Constant updates keep software free from bugs and glitches and how easy it is to maneuver through the website.

The website could use a facelift to match a more modern look.
