NegativeTurbify or should I say Turdify, email hasn't worked with outlook for more than a month and this is a known issue. There are imap server issues which they still haven't fixed and blame Microsoft. I didn't select Turdify as a provider. I purchased a hosting package with Yahoo several years ago and Verizon bought Yahoo which then sold their email services to Turdify. If I wouldn't lose 100,000 stored emails, I would change providers.

Date: Mar 14 2024SummaryFor starters, my domain was "pending" when it should have been active. Next, something on their backend was failing to redirect our a-record to another server. After 7 calls to customer service, I was more or less told "Not my circus, not my monkeys." Customer service is more or less useless. This company is a scam. Avoid at ALL costs.
PositiveThere are none. Absolutely no pros to using this service. I only ended up with it because it started out as Yahoo Small business and was resold time and again, ending in their lap.

Date: May 16 2023SummaryWill not put you through to a supervisor..... they just apologize and say sorry for the inconvenience, then when I asked for a supervisor they say supervisor not available....I told them I will file a complaint and could I have supervisor's name she say "We have many supervisors" and I told her that I have asked her SIX times for a supervisor and I find it REMARKABLE how have "many" and no one is available....will change this hosting service to another company.

Dishonest tactics at annual renewal

PositiveThe product itself is okay but too complicated for most needs. It is not easy to use but it does probably have a lot of features useful for bigger users.
NegativeTurbify doubled their annual prices without informing me and I only saw this when the automatic annual payment went through my bank account. Their terms of service state that if you cancel, you don't get a refund for any of the period - if you cancel the day after they take the annual payment, you still get nothing back.

Poor Everything
Updated: Nov 29 2023SummaryWhen it was Yahoo it was easy to use and the service was excellent. With each succeeding new owner the service level declined, until with the sale to Turbify everything fell apart. I was forced onto a new and clumsy website builder. The help desk people cannot understand basic English, so don't get anything fixed, but are quick to demand good reviews after NOT solving my problems. Then, at the latest renewal, they sneakily hiked up the fees. If it was possible to leave Zero ratings I would do so.

Another one bites the dust
Date: Mar 13 2023Summary20 years with a simple website with 2 forms mailers. Nothing elaborate. Pure html pages. Started with Yahoo which morphed to Yahoo 'Small Business' then to 'Luminate' - which I did have some minor pains getting their forms mailer configured (just security related stuff - thanks to all the mail spammers out there.) But now with 'Turbify' I have to upgrade. Whatever account subscription I have no longer has a forms mailer service. I have to ADD that. This is how the rabbit hole starts. Time to move on.

Screwed the pooch
Date: Apr 30 2023SummaryStarting on Wednesday April 26th Turbify said they were conducting maintenance that disrupted the ability to place orders for 8 hours and the ability to get into the Store Manager (administration side) until mid afternoon Saturday (April 29th). So no processing of orders or ability to update pricing, inventory etc.
Since access was restored I now discover that they have broken the inventory feature and it will not be restored until June!!! I'm operating a retail store, how can I do that without the ability to adjust inventory?
In addition the ability to upload database changes to my existing product catalog is non-functional. I sell products that change in value in real time (precious metals) and I have been using this feature for 15 years to quickly adjust pricing for 200 items at a time. This is criminal. I have filed a trouble ticket but at this time I do not have any faith that they will be getting this fixed.
When I set up the website in 2009 Yahoo Small Business was a good fit for me. Now that I have built a site with over 300 pages it makes it hard to want to move to a different host so I resisted doing so. I do not think I can put it off any longer.PositiveNone.
The only pro to using Turbify to host your webstore would be that you need a tax write-off, if so you can use these guys.NegativeCannot integrate with PayPal Payflow. Only PayPal options are Payments Standard and PayPal Pro. However PayPal Pro is a legacy product that PayPal no longer offers. They have not figured out how to implement the newer Payflow.

Fees are high. $40 per month plus 1.5% of invoices (including shipping).
Abysmal customer support. Yahoo switched support to India based call centers and Verizon (Luminate) and Turbify have kept this arrangement. The TS phone calls routinely run to an hour or more and rarely result in fixes. Time I can never get back. -

After many calls when the email was never restored they refused to refund the money. Overall they are a terrible company to deal with and I recommend staying away from doing business with Turbify.

Updated: Nov 11 2023SummaryLike others I was moved to Turbify from my LONG time use of Yahoo Small Business. Yahoo went through a few other transitions but overall I liked much of its service, one transition was pretty bad but nothing compares to the move to Turbify. I have never experienced customer and technical support as bad as this in my many years in this field.
I really have nothing to add to the other reviews here except I moved to Dreamhost and have nothing but the highest recommendation for Dreamhost versus Turbify. Dreamhost customer service is excellent (do have a little wait time if you use chat but again nothing like Turbify), they can actually FIX the issue for you, they follow up. And their pricing is much better.
Stay away from Turbify or move to something like Dreamhost ASAP. (I am also one of those who very rarely writes reviews but feel it is important in this case.)PositiveNothing, I honestly cannot think of a positive/'pro' to list here. There are much better services out there.
