    Summary

    I have been using UnForm for my customers since version 2 and we're currently on version 10. The product has grown and matured throughout those versions with leaps in each one. It fills several needs for my customers and does it efficiently. The integration options are numerous and well-designed. I can't wait to see what's in version 11 and beyond.

    Positive

    End-to-end document management, from printing to archiving, with all steps in between. I am constantly amazed at the thought and depth that goes into this product suite. I love all the useful features embedded in this software. Using rule files I can create custom forms and read/write data directly from/to BBx files from BASIS International. I can add documents to the archive and create cross-referenced links to other documents. I can even use the internal object-oriented programming to do more operations.
    Everything is spelled out nicely in the documentation and when I need help beyond that, I get timely answers through their support ticket system.
    I haven't had a chance to use the DocFlow document routing system yet, but look forward to it.

    Negative

    I honestly can't think of things I didn't like. Version 10 is an outstanding product.

    Summary

    We've been using UnForm for almost 15 years. Send hundreds of emailed forms a day without an issue.

    Positive

    Easy to use. Create the forms in MS Word and save as a PDF or PCL in minutes.

    Negative

    It tends to hang on our IBM RS/6000 running AIX 5.3 when images.dat and jobs.dat file get too large. I created a script to clear the files.

    Copy protection kills legacy program

    Summary

    Crap company punishing legitimate users with their copy protection. Will not reset license to activate on replacement server without ransom payment.

    Not sure what programmer needed this crap for, but it's biting us in the butt now. I suppose some small part of our solution uses it to generate reports of some kind. But likely better options exist now and likely existed when it was first made too.

    Negative

    They charge each time you want to move older software to a new VM or fix old server. $125 per incident for versions older than 9.0 and 10 right now.

    Beware, your legacy software will be broken sooner or later if they refuse to help.

    UnForm is one of my all-time favorites, it has allowed me to solve many problems for my users. Printing invoices, statements & checks, fax & email integration and more recently archiving have allowed me to offer a lot of flexibility to my clients.

    Positive

    I like the flexibility the most, if you can dream it up in your head you can do it with UnForm. When I first started in using it in 2001 I installed the software, learned enough to be useful and was producing documents with it by the end of the first day. Since then I have used it for many clients, saving a lot of money on forms costs and eventually doing things we had never done before, such as document archiving.

    There is a bit of a learning curve, but it is easily overcome and well worth it.

    It's an excellent product. Instead of having to buy separate scanning, archiving, and markup products, it's all there. The workflow is new, and I don't have a lot of experience there but it looks to be commensurately excellent like the rest of the product.

    Unform is an all-in-one solution for document markup, archiving, scanning, and workflow. It's easy to program, robust, and the tools get better every version.

    Negative

    Some libraries were discontinued on AIX so AIX support isn't as good as it used to be, but that's hardly a problem as most of our customers are now on Linux.

    The product us very flexible and easily integrates with Acumatica. If your using with Acumatica it's definitely a good choice.

    Easy To Use and Very Flexible to setup in connection with Acumatica - easy installation wizard that allows deployment to users.

    A little older GUI but much simpler to setup than other products.
