Unfair support/payment model
Date: May 10 2021SummaryI've paid for this twice (one purchase, one 'upgrade'), but not I find myself looking for something different, the user experience has got worse, frustrating in fact.
PositiveUsed to work really well (though has got more buggy).
Easy to use.
Powerful set of features.
Great set of export presets.NegativeYou have to keep paying to update to later versions.

Novice User
Date: Oct 22 2021SummaryAs a first-timer, I was pleased by ease-of-use. It's pretty intuitive.
Nearly bought it but want to compare the open-source equivalents first.
Can recommend VideoPad to any first timer. My concern, when I discovered it was not free, was that I would invest days of effort learning about it, only to discover I couldn't save projects (a Movie Maker restriction) or - horror of horrors - there was a watermark on the exported file! But no; full functionality is available on the trial. However I want to check out the open source equivalents before buying. Price is not an issue (VideoPad is very cheap); it is the hours of learning investment in one system.PositiveEasy to use. I'm used to OBS and Audacity but have never done video editing. This proved surprisingly straightforward. I am still going to try its open source equivalents before committing.
NegativeSurprised by invitations to buy it because I downloaded it based on wrong advice that it was free. Nevertheless, they let you try out the full functionality and complete your editing without restrictions. And it is definitely NOT expensive.

Excellent for Quick Projects
Date: Jul 25 2019SummaryI've used this software for about eight seasons to do team videos. I've had no problems with stability and it supports modern multimedia extensions on CPU's and GPU's, making it fairly light on resources and responsive.
PositiveModern features like 360 video support. Simple interface based on Adobe Premier's older versions. Huge library of transitions and filters available due to its compatibility with 3rd party plug ins.
NegativeThe transition library has been stagnant for a few years and there is no custom way to make your own.
