What is WireEdit?
WireEdit features a WYSIWYG interface that allows users to edit Pcap data directly within any network stack and across all layers while preserving the original binary integrity. The application performs its edits seamlessly, recalculating lengths, checksums, offsets, and other dependencies for all affected packets and protocols in real-time, ensuring that no interruptions occur. This functionality positions it similarly to Microsoft Word™ in the context of network traffic, delivering a far superior editing experience compared to other tools that often fail to modify binary encoded layers above TCP/UDP without risking data integrity. As a robust packet editor, WireEdit ensures that packet integrity is maintained at every level. It is compatible with IETF protocols and is offered at a price of $95 for a 24-hour period, with additional package options and site licenses available for purchase. Targeted at enterprise-level users, WireEdit includes comprehensive support for all 3GPP Mobile Core protocols and interfaces, such as SS7, RANAP, DIAMETER, and VoLTE, highlighting its importance for professionals engaged in complex network traffic analysis. Furthermore, users can trust WireEdit to manage intricate editing tasks efficiently, eliminating the possibility of corrupting critical data, thus making it an indispensable tool in the field.

Attractive full stack packet editor
Updated: Feb 04 2023SummaryMy experience with this application has been positive and its feature-rich toolbar is very helpful. I have used it comfortably to process, edit, and create documentation for my organisation. All other packet editing tools are very limited in their ability to edit binary encoded stack layers but wireEdit is a full-stack packet editor by design. It also offers other packages and site licenses. The app fully supports all Mobile Core protocols and interfaces. Measuring my productivity and time really helps me to keep track of my work easily.
PositiveIt is nice to know that my organization is able to use the full stack pack edition. Its proprietary & enterprise level network traffic capture features are impressive to me. It allows WYSIWYG editing of PCAP data in situ for any network stack at any stack layer. I use the toolbar to stay up to date on lengths, checksums, offsets, and protocol layers, which saves me time and effort.
NegativeThe app works really well. My only wish is that the tool details in the tutorial area could include more guidance and training features to better explain how to use them. The price of this service is what I dislike most. It is a helpful service, but it is very expensive for public organizations. It would be helpful to offer different price levels. In addition, developers should always add more effective features & tools, such as Microsoft Office.
