Misleading preview, paid upgrade didn’t recover usable files
Date: Feb 02 2026SummaryI was actually searching for Recuva, but an ad led me to Recoverit’s page instead. I installed it thinking it would help me recover my files.
The scan looked promising at first. It showed many recoverable files, but then I was told I needed the Premium version to actually restore them. Trusting the preview, I paid around $50 for the subscription.
That’s where the real disappointment started.
After upgrading, none of the recovered files worked. They were either corrupted, wouldn’t open, or were completely unusable. The software gave the impression that recovery was possible, but in reality, it did not deliver.
I essentially paid $65 for files that looked recoverable in the preview but turned out to be useless after recovery. To make it worse, there was no proper refund support for this situation.
Very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this to anyone relying on it for important file recovery.PositiveClean interface and easy to run a scan

Requires paid upgrade to actually test real recovery
No clear way to verify file integrity before paying
Refund support was not helpful in my case
Feels like the scan results oversell what can truly be restored
Expensive for the outcome (around $65 lost with no usable files)
