TotalFinder is tailored for Mac users who are looking for an improved functionality from their Finder application. Although it functions much like the standard Finder, it brings additional features such as tabbed browsing, dual-pane views, and color-coded labels for better organization. It’s crucial to highlight that TotalFinder acts as an add-on, integrating seamlessly with Finder when launching TotalFinder.app, without making any permanent changes to the Finder files saved on the disk. This application is installed independently yet alters the running instance of Finder in memory, a technique I describe as TotalFinder's injection into Finder. Due to this method of operation, there is a slight possibility that TotalFinder may experience challenges with future Finder updates. Our committed team utilizes TotalFinder on a daily basis, enabling us to promptly detect and resolve any issues that may come up. Historically, updates to Finder have led to only minimal changes. Furthermore, my enrollment in Apple’s Developer Program provides me with access to beta versions of system updates, which I use to ensure that TotalFinder stays in sync with Apple's ongoing changes. By adopting a proactive approach, we work hard to provide a smooth experience for our users, ensuring that they can take full advantage of TotalFinder's capabilities without disruption.
