What is XiMpLe?

XiMpLe is a user-friendly editor designed for both XML and JSON formats, presenting data in a table grid layout where similar nodes are organized into tables. This tool is available free of charge for non-commercial applications and does not require any installation for use.

Key features include:
- An XML splitter and joiner suitable for handling large XML documents
- A comparator for XML files that includes a merging capability
- Easy validation against XSD schemas presented in an intuitive layout
- The ability to create and execute scripts, though this is restricted to commercial users

To get started, no extensive setup is necessary; simply download a single file (1.4MB), save it on your hard drive or USB drive, and execute it. The software is compatible with Windows versions 7, 8, 10, and 11, provided that .NET Framework 4.5 is installed. Users will find it remarkably convenient for their XML and JSON editing needs.

    Absolute killer XML editor

    Updated: Apr 06 2024
    Summary

Cannot imagine my life without it any more, there's no other similar editor/viewer of XML files at all (XML-Spy is way too complicated and expensive and XML-Pad from Semyon A. Chertkov was dead long time ago, even his WMHelp domain doesn't exist any more).

    Positive

    - no need to install, it's portable by default (great for working in a corporate company)
    - 1,5MB size is minimalistic perfection
    - super easy and intuitive to use
    - no bug found after years of using (which I cannot say about XML-Pad)
    - free for use for non-commercial purposes

    Negative

    - web page of the project is http without certificate, which may be blocked by company policies with might IT department
    - common concern with all single-programmer projects: who will continue if something happen to the author
