Updated: Aug 07 2024SummaryFor me: The support team, primarily Nick and Megan, are fantastic. When I signed up for fitDEGREE I opted in for the additional training. It was money well spent. I met weekly with Nick, who had the training mapped out, to go over the week's topics and to get hands on experience navigating the App. In addition, these sessions were taped which I reference when needed. We also utilize their fitSpot Guru Pod casts for ways to improve and market our studio. For my clients: All have had nothing but praise for the switch to fitDEGREE. My clients love the overall look of the App on their phone and the ease to navigate through it.
PositiveEase of use, not only for me but for the clients as well. One of my fears was losing some of my client base during the transitioning from the old software to fitDEGREE. However, the transition was seamless even for my most novice "techie" clients. The Messaging feature within the App is a welcome form of quick communication as well as the "announcement" option. One important feature we wanted was the ability to customizing the App to reflect our studio and our mission. fitDEGREE shines here, easy to set up classes and events within the App as well as being able to edit and change things quickly.
NegativeWe allow our students to share classes from their packages with their friends. The fitDEGREE app does not allow you to share your classes ,however; does give an option to "gift" a class to somebody. Its not convenient to our students.

PositiveThe team at fitDEGREE is unparalleled. They're friendly, helpful, and communicative. If we have an issue, we've always received a response from customer service within 24 hours. If we have a request or recommendation, they'll accommodate if possible or offer an alternative solution if available. In addition to the team, the software itself provides us with everything required for daily functionality and future growth. fitDEGREE has the capability, integrity, and heart, that my studio needs.
NegativeEvery business has needs that are incredibly specific to their model, and there is no software company robust enough to accommodate them all. The only area in which we could be even more satisfied with our fitDEGREE experience is Reports. The software has a solid foundation of available data, but we do compile additional spreadsheets for specific KPI's.

On-boarding went well, I am able to generate the reports and data I need, and the support is responsive and works to resolution. Clients have had no complaints about their experience in the time I have worked in my role.

The software is SO intuitive, easy to learn and navigate and if ever something I'm not sure of, I have an actual person to reach out to that is always there for me and the studio. It was such a headache and stressful using other software programs for years, I could never set up anything on my own or reach support. fitDEGREE has made it 10000% easier. NegativeI do wish they had a better referral / point system to reward clients who bring friends but they now integrate with Perkville so we have signed up for that platform. I also with FD sent sub reminders when teachers pick up a class, and had more robust reports for retention statistics.

Funky refund method for us, a non intuitive 2 step process (When processing a refund (other than membership, which we shouldn't be refunding), simply refunding the item does not zero it out. so it is a two step process. process refund, refund to account balance, and then go back to client profile, Active Items, Change Remaining uses to zero, and change expiration date to the date of the refund.) It is just not easy to use/remember. -

Thrilled with Our Switch to fitDEGREE

However, in some ways it felt like the devil we knew was better than the one we did not. We took time to speak with Nick about switching to fitDEGREE and he was incredibly helpful in letting us know how this platform would work for our small, locally owned studios. It never felt like a hard sell, rather he was helping us decide if the fit was good. We made the switch at the new year, and our clients resoundingly gave us very positive feedback about the new app and registration process. They love the ease of use, the class registration reminders, the branded app, their ability to easily see and review their registrations and cancel classes.
Likewise our teachers were happy with fitDEGREE. We were all a little worried about the confusion level with the switch, but fitDEGREE provided us with so much helpful information to include messaging, links and videos to provide to our teachers and clients. Our teachers were relieved to know that the platform is intuitive and very easy to navigate.
It should be noted that our hands were held through the entire process of switching to fitDEGREE. I was so pleasantly surprised on how thoroughly I was walked through the switch by Montse. She helped me recreate our schedule, set up all my pricing options and ensure that everything was in place for the app to activate with ease. Megan supported me in transitioning all my clients from the previous platform to fitDEGREE, to include their Class Packs and Memberships. (Honestly I expected some chaos to ensue, but that never happened. It was pretty incredible.)
I feel a great sense of relief in knowing that support from fitDEGREE is fast, friendly and helpful. If an email can't answer my question, I can easily set up a Zoom call with support and Ali has ensured that all my questions are solved - in my experience usually in less than a day.
An additional perk I didn't realize the value of until we were a couple months into use is the added support we receive in the form of the podcast and small business supportive emails. They provide ideas for promotion, tracking sales and advertising which are very helpful for a small business owner.
Finally, an important part of our mission is building and maintaining a supportive community around our clients. FitDEGREE allows our community to friend and chat with one another on our app. They can invite one another to classes, and can even gift classes to others on the app. It is a wonderful way for our studio to promote our mission of connection even when students are outside of the studio.
