What is Emdash?

Emdash is a free, open-source agentic development environment that provides tools for orchestrating AI coding agents across multiple software development tasks. The desktop application runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux and supports numerous command-line coding assistants, including Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, Amp, Antigravity, and OpenCode. Developers can create separate tasks and assign different AI agents to implement features, investigate bugs, refactor applications, or review existing code. Each task uses an isolated Git worktree and branch, allowing multiple agents to modify the same repository without directly conflicting over working files. The platform maintains task-specific terminal sessions, agent conversations, and review information within a centralized interface. Its built-in file editor allows users to browse, search, modify, and recover source files directly within their development workspaces. Emdash includes an integrated browser for previewing local applications, remote development servers, and public web pages while working on coding tasks. Git management capabilities support reviewing code diffs, staging changes, creating commits, pushing branches, opening pull requests, and monitoring GitHub Actions checks. Scheduled automation features enable recurring agent executions for activities such as code reviews, bug sweeps, dependency maintenance, and release preparation. The software connects with Linear, Jira, GitHub, Notion, Asana, and other project management services while providing a library for reusable prompts, agent skills, and Model Context Protocol servers. Remote execution capabilities support SSH-connected development machines and provisioned workspaces, with persistent terminal sessions and isolated environments for managing agents across local and remote infrastructure.

What is Campfire SMS?

Campfire SMS is an interactive SMS connector designed specifically for developers who are using AI coding agents. It facilitates a connection between either a local or cloud-based agent and a verified phone number, allowing users to receive task updates and inquiries directly in their text message inbox, while also sending replies back to the agent. This service works seamlessly with MCP clients and offers setup instructions for multiple platforms, such as Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, Grok Build, OpenCode, and Grok Bot. While local agents require the computer and session to remain active, Grok Bot routines can be set up to operate in the cloud, making it possible to turn off the computer. Users can get notifications regarding the completion of builds or tests, respond to agent inquiries, and manage ongoing coding tasks remotely. Furthermore, the SMS delivery system utilizes a hosted account with message credits, which ensures that the agent’s model and tools are kept secure within its own operational environment. This advancement not only helps developers enhance their productivity but also ensures efficient communication, even when they are away from their desks. Ultimately, it represents a significant step forward in integrating mobile technology with coding workflows.
