What is Geomagic Freeform?

The fusion of 3D design software with touch-sensitive haptic devices transforms traditional craftsmanship, enabling the development of organic digital designs that cater to individualized production needs. This innovative technology allows for the creation of sculpted forms that are specifically made to fit the contours of the human body, while also integrating both intricate aesthetic details and functional features that conventional CAD systems often find challenging to replicate. It ensures that designs are effectively tailored for a variety of manufacturing techniques, whether they are additive, subtractive, or formative in nature. With a user-friendly haptic interface, individuals can effortlessly transition from standard handcrafting methods to a more sophisticated digital design process. Geomagic® Freeform®, acclaimed as the premier organic hybrid design software in the field, enables designers to address complex precision challenges in manufacturing, facilitating the orchestration of detailed tasks within established scan-to-print or CAD-to-manufacturing workflows. Moreover, Geomagic Sculpt™ enhances the organic design-to-3D printing pipeline, providing efficient tools that expedite development. Meanwhile, Geomagic Freeform takes it a step further by offering an extensive array of advanced design capabilities, including a comprehensive suite of sculpting tools for intricate design endeavors, making it an invaluable resource for professionals aiming to elevate their creative potential. This synergy of cutting-edge technology not only enhances the design experience but also paves the way for groundbreaking advancements in the realm of custom manufacturing, ultimately reshaping how designers and manufacturers collaborate.

What is 3dSynth?

3dSynth rethinks 3D printing by treating G-code itself as the design medium rather than a byproduct of slicing software. It allows creators to design objects procedurally using math-driven parameters that directly define printer movement. By removing STL files from the process, users gain finer control over surfaces that are difficult or impossible to model conventionally. Shapes evolve in real time as parameters like amplitude, frequency, and phase are adjusted. The modular effect stack encourages experimentation, letting users layer multiple transformations into a single cohesive form. Effects can be blended, ranged, and combined to produce highly organic or structured results. The real-time toolpath preview helps ensure dimensional accuracy and print safety before export. Spiral vase mode supports continuous Z motion, making it ideal for lightweight, single-wall decorative prints. Exported G-code is customized for specific printers, reducing setup friction. 3dSynth supports popular machines while remaining compatible with any standard FDM printer. Both a free browser version and a full desktop app are available. Overall, 3dSynth is built for creative freedom, precision, and playful experimentation with fabrication itself.
