What is Gradle?

Gradle, Inc. offers the Gradle Build Tool alongside Develocity, previously known as Gradle Enterprise, both of which enhance the efficiency and troubleshooting of builds, tests, and various tasks across platforms like Maven, Gradle, Bazel, and sbt. The Gradle Build Tool stands out as the leading choice for constructing open-source JVM projects on GitHub, boasting over 30 million downloads monthly, and earning a spot in TechCrunch's Top 20 Most Popular Open Source Projects; notably, many renowned projects, including Spring Boot, have transitioned from Maven to Gradle. Develocity uniquely merges the acceleration of software build performance with comprehensive analytics, making it a preferred solution for elite software development firms globally, enabling them to cut build times by 50% and reclaim an entire week of lost developer productivity. Additionally, the incorporation of acceleration technologies significantly accelerates the processes of software development and testing, while data analytics features like Failure Analytics Trends & Insights streamline the troubleshooting process, allowing teams to focus more on innovation.

What is DevGhost?

Understand what your development team and contractors contribute to the codebase. DevGhost combines software development analytics with Git-based estimates of work volume, helping founders, CTOs and engineering managers compare contributions on a consistent scale. Review sustained trends, look into delivery concerns and use commit details to prepare better conversations with the team. The benchmark is a mid-level developer familiar with the project and working without AI. Effort describes the estimated work embodied in a change; Ghost% compares productivity with the reference level. Neither is a record of time at a keyboard, a code-quality score or a measure of business value. Account for roles, task complexity and work outside the repository when interpreting results. DevGhost does not track screens or keystrokes. Choose where analysis happens: SaaS in the DevGhost cloud, Local on your computer, or On-Prem on company infrastructure. The SaaS service connects to GitHub and GitLab. Local analyzes local Git history offline in VS Code or Cursor, keeping code and results on the computer. It includes Replay, contributor filters, identity merging, bot exclusions and PDF, Excel and JSON exports. The Ghost Café sample offers a free offline introduction to Local. Local also includes 500 new commits free per calendar month, with optional one-time credit packs. SaaS starts with 2,000 signup credits plus 500 monthly; its credits are separate from Local. On-Prem terms are available on request.
