What is Herdr?

Herdr is a multiplexer and terminal-oriented runtime designed specifically for developers who work with AI coding assistants, command-line interfaces, tests, and a variety of other tools. It organizes tasks into separate workspaces, tabs, and panes managed by a background server, ensuring that processes continue to run smoothly even if the client disconnects. Users can reattach locally or access Herdr from various machines using SSH. The software detects compatible coding agents, displaying their status as operational, blocked, idle, or completed, and it guarantees that native agent sessions remain active after a server restart. With a command-line interface and a local socket API, users can write scripts and agents to monitor sessions, control panes, launch or interact with agents, and respond to state changes. Developers can also personalize keybindings and themes, enhancing their workflows with local executable plugins. Herdr is compatible with macOS, Linux, and Windows, and is released under the Apache 2.0 license. Its innovative design seeks to simplify the development process by fostering an efficient environment for multitasking and effective management of coding activities, ultimately aiming to improve productivity among developers. By providing a structured and dynamic interface, Herdr empowers users to focus on their coding projects with ease and flexibility.

What is Cosmos?

Cosmos by Augment Code is an AI agent orchestration platform that helps software engineering organizations automate and manage development activities across multiple teams, repositories, and environments. The platform coordinates specialized AI agents that perform tasks involving software implementation, code review, testing, vulnerability remediation, incident investigation, and development workflow management. Its Expert system allows organizations to configure reusable agents with defined instructions, capabilities, tools, execution environments, and access permissions. Cosmos includes a Context Engine that provides agents with codebase intelligence by identifying relevant files, dependencies, architectural relationships, and existing implementation patterns. The platform supports automated workflows initiated by repository events, project management updates, monitoring alerts, scheduled tasks, and custom webhooks. Its ticket-to-pull-request workflows can investigate assigned issues, generate code changes, run verification procedures, and prepare modifications for engineering review. Automated code review capabilities use specialized agents to assess pull requests for correctness, implementation risks, and issues requiring human judgment. Cosmos provides isolated virtual machines and supports execution on managed cloud infrastructure, self-hosted machines, and supported customer environments. Shared organizational memory allows agents to retain reusable knowledge, reference previous workflow outcomes, and apply updated instructions across future executions. Governance capabilities include human-in-the-loop approval checkpoints, versioned workflows, execution auditing, access controls, and configurable spending limits for automated operations. Integrations with GitHub, GitLab, Jira, Linear, Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Model Context Protocol tools enable organizations to connect agent workflows with their existing development infrastructure.
