What is InsulEngine?

InsulEngine is a cloud-based software specifically developed for mechanical insulation contractors, focusing on takeoff and estimating tasks. Users can effortlessly upload their plumbing or mechanical bid documents along with specifications, after which the software accurately measures pipes and ducts from the drawings, interpreting sizes from callouts, riser diagrams, and schedules while applying relevant insulation criteria such as material types, thicknesses, jacketing requirements, and exclusions. The estimates produced reflect the contractor’s individual costs, labor rates, waste considerations, and markup percentages. This all-encompassing workflow addresses multiple systems, including domestic water, storm drainage, heating, chilled water, steam, condensate, refrigerant line sets, and the complete range of supply, return, outside-air, and exhaust ductwork, in addition to related fittings, risers, drops, and outdoor jacketing. Each calculated quantity is connected back to its corresponding drawing sheets, and any unresolved items are flagged for the estimator's attention. Notably, contractors have complete authority over the assumptions made in the estimates and the final bid pricing, allowing for a customized approach to their specific projects. Additionally, the software significantly enhances the estimation process, enabling contractors to save valuable time while improving the precision of their bids, ultimately leading to more successful project outcomes. This capability not only boosts efficiency but also empowers contractors to make more informed decisions.

What is BidPilot?

BidPilot is a web-based HVAC estimating platform tailored for contractors looking to generate job estimates and client proposals efficiently. Users have the capability to enter various job-related details, such as labor costs, materials, quantities, and markup rates, to create comprehensive estimates based on their specific inputs. Additionally, a built-in AI writing tool assists in formulating the language used in the proposals, enabling contractors to meticulously assess the scope, key assumptions, specifications, and the overall proposal document. A public demo version is available for access via web browsers, ensuring that customer information and estimates remain confidential and unrecorded. Although there are subscription options labeled Starter, Pro, and Business, these plans are currently inactive due to billing being turned off. Ultimately, BidPilot enables contractors to generate thorough and reviewable estimates and proposals, allowing them to maintain control over pricing and specifications without depending solely on AI support. This capability not only boosts productivity but also enhances the overall quality of communication between contractors and their clients, fostering a more professional interaction. In doing so, BidPilot stands out as a reliable tool in the HVAC estimating landscape.
