What is JTAG Maps?

JTAG Mapsâ„¢, a user-friendly extension for Altium, enables engineers to efficiently evaluate the testing capabilities offered by JTAG devices integrated into their designs. Previously, engineers dedicated significant time to manually marking boundary-scan nets within a design to assess their coverage. The boundary scan device model files, known as BSDLs, play an essential role in the JTAG and boundary scanning process by specifying which pins can be manipulated through JTAG. JTAG Maps supports BSDL models and includes an option to 'assume scanner covered.' While many users may opt for the Altium coverage report provided by JTAG Maps, there is also an option to import a more comprehensive analysis. Additionally, data can be exported to JTAG ProVision for in-depth evaluation, allowing engineers to gain further insights. Subsequently, a straightforward message file that encompasses complete fault-coverage details can be re-imported into JTAG Maps for visualization and highlighting purposes. This streamlined process significantly reduces the time engineers need to spend on testing assessments.

What is Carve Data Recovery?

Carve Data Recovery is a Windows utility that enables users to retrieve files from a range of scenarios, including deleted, formatted, lost, or corrupted volumes. It performs efficient scans across various file systems such as FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, and NTFS, and has the ability to reconstruct both partitions and directory structures even when essential records like partition tables or boot sectors are damaged. When directory entries are absent, this tool employs content-based carving techniques to recognize supported file formats and determine their precise boundaries. Users can also preview files, create byte-for-byte disk images, and access SMART data concerning drive health. It supports both 512-byte and native 4Kn sectors, making it compatible with USB drives, memory cards, and disk images. The software allows for the recovery of a wide range of data types, including documents, images, media files, archives, as well as compatible CAD and 3D files, with the flexibility to save the recovered files to a different location. Although scanning and file previews are available at no cost, the free version restricts recovery to files limited to 1 MB each, with options for purchasing perpetual licenses suited for individual use, small teams, or larger organizations. This adaptable software is an essential tool for addressing data recovery challenges across various devices and circumstances, ensuring users have access to their important files when needed most. Additionally, its user-friendly interface enhances the recovery experience, making it accessible even for those who may not be tech-savvy.
