What is Lenz?

Lenz is an advanced API specifically crafted for rigorous audit-level verification of assertions made by AI-generated content, catering to teams that need to confirm factual accuracy before sharing information with clients or customers. This innovative tool examines various text formats, including drafts, memos, and model responses, pinpointing factual statements that can be corroborated by reliable public resources while offering a comprehensive report for each claim. Its functionality revolves around four primary API features: extracting verifiable claims, conducting rapid assessments of these claims in bulk through multiple models, escalating unclear statements to a thorough verification process, and supporting follow-up inquiries based on the results obtained from the verification. The entire verification workflow is delineated into five distinct phases: identifying the issue, performing research, engaging in discussion, undergoing a panel review, and ultimately arriving at a conclusion. Lenz diligently scours public information, assessing evidence based on criteria such as authority, relevance, and timeliness, while incorporating models from various providers to present arguments for both sides of a claim. In the end, it provides a verdict along with a confidence score, references to the sources cited, and a detailed account of the reasoning, enabling users to perform their own audits and ensuring a high level of transparency and dependability. By utilizing Lenz, teams can significantly improve their decision-making capabilities, guaranteeing that all claims are meticulously scrutinized before they are communicated to their intended audience, ultimately fostering a culture of accuracy and trustworthiness in information sharing.

What is ClaimBuster?

ClaimBuster acts as the central hub for all fact-checking activities within the IDIR Lab. Initially established to create an AI system that could spot claims needing verification, it has gradually evolved towards the goal of fully automated fact-checking. Although primarily used by journalists, ClaimBuster is accessible to anyone determined to tackle misinformation. Users can easily access our models via an API that requires just the creation of a free API key. The effectiveness of ClaimBuster is greatly enhanced by the involvement of individuals who label data, and we invite you to sign up and assist in this labeling process to improve our model. Moreover, we've released the training code for our machine learning model as open-source, encouraging talented AI engineers to lend their expertise. Our claim-detection model even retweets posts it finds that may need verification, further broadening its real-time application. By joining our efforts, you can significantly contribute to the ongoing fight against misinformation, making a meaningful impact in your community and beyond. Your participation not only aids in refining the model but also empowers others to be vigilant against false information.
