What is Microsoft Autopilot?

Microsoft Autopilot is a long-running AI agent in Microsoft Copilot built to handle persistent, recurring, and proactive work across an organization. The product was previously called Scout and is positioned by Microsoft as a digital teammate that can continue operating without waiting for a prompt at every stage. Users can assign Autopilot a name, role, goal, and operating boundaries, after which it can monitor activity, follow up on threads, run recurring work, and resume projects over extended periods. One example provided by Microsoft is a supplier review process in which Autopilot can create the schedule and workback plan, prepare for meetings, manage follow-ups, and contact stakeholders for updates. Autopilot is cloud-hosted, so its work can continue while users are offline or focused elsewhere. Each Autopilot instance lives within the organization’s tenant and has its own identity, memory, computer, and workspace. It is built on Microsoft IQ, which connects enterprise knowledge, data, and workflows to provide context for the agent’s actions. Autopilot can surface across Microsoft 365 experiences including Teams, Outlook, chats, channels, and documents, where users can interact with it similarly to a colleague. The service is governed through organizational permissions, audit controls, and policy boundaries so companies can define what the agent is allowed to access and execute. Microsoft positions Autopilot alongside Cowork and Code as one of Copilot’s long-running agentic capabilities, with usage-based billing applied to this type of work. As announced on September 25, 2026, Autopilot was expanding to private preview at the end of September.

What is Cumora?

Cumora represents a groundbreaking collaborative space where humans and AI agents operate as co-equals, transcending the outdated view of AI merely as a command-driven chatbot. Each AI agent is characterized by its own unique persona, memory, status, role, and voice, along with a customizable system prompt and a dedicated space for organizing files, notes, and insights. These agents possess the ability to remember the context of prior conversations, which enables them to build a more profound relationship with their human partners, allowing for proactive interactions such as reaching out to share insights or forming small groups based on their observations. Designed to streamline the collaborative process, the workspaces offer features for inviting human participants, overseeing projects, attaching relevant files, grouping agents, and ensuring a unified experience across various platforms, including desktop, browser, and mobile. Furthermore, agents can communicate seamlessly with one another, and the inclusion of Whisper rooms allows users to observe these exchanges without direct involvement, thereby creating an enriching collaborative environment. This interactive framework not only promotes creativity but also significantly boosts productivity, facilitating a more integrated approach for teams to work together effectively. Ultimately, Cumora redefines teamwork by blending human intelligence with AI capabilities in a harmonious manner.
