What is Navegatium DICOM Viewer?

Navegatium is a groundbreaking application for the visualization of medical images, recognized as the first software in the world to enable 2D, 3D, and X-Ray reconstructions from DICOM images. Its intuitive touchscreen interface enhances accessibility, and it runs smoothly on devices with Windows 10 and 8.1, with easy installation available through the Windows Store. By merging an innovative approach to user interaction with a powerful visualization engine, Navegatium streamlines the viewing and management of DICOM images sourced from local drives, removable media, or PACS servers in ways that were once thought to be impossible. Furthermore, the newly launched Navegatium 3D Printing module provides users with an engaging on-demand feature that allows them to request 3D printed models based on their medical examinations right from the application. Finding and organizing DICOM studies is straightforward; just point the app to a local directory, a DICOM CD/DVD, a USB stick, or a cloud service like Dropbox, OneDrive, or Google Drive, and Navegatium will efficiently sort patients, modalities, and series with impressive accuracy. With this diverse array of features, Navegatium not only simplifies workflows for healthcare professionals but also solidifies its role as a vital asset in the realm of medical imaging technology. As the medical field continues to evolve, tools like Navegatium will play a crucial role in enhancing diagnostics and patient care.

What is Miele-LXIV?

Miele-LXIV is a sophisticated 64-bit DICOM viewer and workstation developed by Alex Bettarini. The version designed for macOS is created using Objective-C and compiled with Xcode, and it is available for free download. On the other hand, the Windows and Linux editions have been completely re-engineered in C++ with the help of CMake and wxWidgets, currently featuring about 25% of the capabilities found in the macOS version. For users interested in the Windows version, it requires OpenGL (Core profile), and they can obtain a free evaluation version by contacting the developer directly. The Linux version, which is built with gcc, also necessitates OpenGL drivers (Core profile) and has been tested successfully on Ubuntu 24.04 and Linux Mint 22.1. Beyond serving as a DICOM workstation and viewer, Miele-LXIV also offers a range of additional functionalities. This initiative began in November 2014 as an offshoot of the popular open-source 32-bit project OsiriX, and it has since undergone extensive adaptations to become a fully functional 64-bit application, addressing many limitations of its predecessor. As Miele-LXIV evolves, the goal remains to enhance both user experience and operational capabilities even further, ensuring it meets the demands of its users.
