What is Melbo?

Melbo is a web-based platform that allows users to participate in a prediction market by trading shares tied to the results of various real-world events. Each market presents a simple Yes/No question, with share prices reflecting the overall probability of each outcome; shares that are accurately resolved will earn a payout of $1. Users can access a broad spectrum of markets encompassing areas such as politics, sports, esports, cryptocurrency, business, and science, and they have the flexibility to buy or sell shares at any time before a market is resolved. To register, individuals can use their email, Google, or Telegram accounts, and each registration includes a built-in non-custodial wallet for ease of transactions. Wallets can be funded using USDC on the Polygon network, with trades starting at a minimum amount of $1, and Melbo covers the associated network gas fees. The trading process is facilitated through third-party smart contract markets, while the final market outcomes are determined by a decentralized oracle. A fee of 1% is applied to market orders, in addition to a liquidity fee that differs by category, though limit orders, deposits, withdrawals, and payouts incur no charges. This platform is exclusively designed for users aged 18 and older, and there are specific geographic restrictions in place; participants should also keep in mind the risk of financial losses associated with trading. Ultimately, Melbo strives to foster an engaging and user-friendly experience for individuals eager to make predictions about a wide variety of events, enhancing the excitement of trading and speculation.
