What is Riverbed NetIM?

The health of the infrastructure that supports your essential applications is vital for the seamless delivery of those applications. When infrastructure encounters a failure, it can directly result in disruptions to application functionality. Moreover, this infrastructure is not static; it often experiences constant changes in its configuration and structure. Consequently, IT teams must adopt a proactive approach to manage and monitor their IT infrastructure, enabling them to detect performance issues, chart application network paths, produce network diagrams, oversee configuration changes, and address infrastructure-related challenges effectively. By employing diverse techniques such as SNMP, WMI, streaming, CLI, traps, syslog, and synthetic testing, organizations can achieve a thorough understanding of their enterprise infrastructure's performance. Furthermore, implementing native health scoring can swiftly identify which devices and locations are suffering from performance degradation, allowing for quick resolution of issues. This holistic strategy not only enhances the resilience of the IT environment but also fosters greater operational efficiency, ultimately supporting the organization's goals. Therefore, prioritizing infrastructure health is essential for maintaining the overall success of application delivery.

What is Cortex XCOR?

Palo Alto Networks Cortex XCOR is an enterprise observability platform designed to monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance and reliability of applications, infrastructure, and digital services. Built on technology from Chronosphere, the platform combines AI-powered incident investigation, conversational operations, and scalable telemetry management within a unified environment. Its observability capabilities collect and correlate metrics, logs, traces, and events across cloud-native applications, microservices, infrastructure components, and user-facing systems. XCOR Operator provides a natural language interface that allows engineers to investigate incidents, explore telemetry, construct queries, configure alerts, and generate dashboard panels. AI Investigations uses automated reasoning to analyze operational signals, identify relationships between system components, and isolate probable causes of performance degradation or service failures. Operational Fabric provides the contextual foundation for autonomous workflows by combining real-time system topology, historical operational knowledge, and previous user interactions. Application monitoring features include automatic service discovery, dependency mapping, distributed tracing, service-level objective tracking, and real-time error budget analysis. Real user monitoring captures frontend interactions, page load performance, and application errors, while synthetic monitoring helps teams evaluate the availability and responsiveness of digital services. Infrastructure observability connects application behavior with underlying cloud and computing resources to support troubleshooting across complex distributed environments. The Optimization Engine evaluates telemetry usage and applies centralized rules for dropping, sampling, or aggregating data, while configurable consumption budgets help control monitoring expenses.
