What is SOLIDWORKS CAM?

SOLIDWORKS® CAM, driven by CAMWorks technology, integrates design and manufacturing processes into a single application, promoting collaboration between design and manufacturing teams through a cohesive software interface and 3D model. This extension for all SOLIDWORKS CAD iterations allows for the early assessment of designs for manufacturability throughout the development process. Manufacturing tasks that once required the completion of a design can now be performed concurrently with the design phase, streamlining operations. Consequently, SOLIDWORKS CAM solutions enable a rapid transition from design to manufacturing through a unified workflow. The SOLIDWORKS CAM Standard version supports efficient programming of individual milled parts and configurations directly within the SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD environment. Users benefit from extensive control in defining rules that align with their corporate standards while also implementing Tolerance-Based Machining (TBM), which significantly boosts productivity and consistency in manufacturing. This integration marks a noteworthy evolution in fostering a cooperative relationship between design and manufacturing, ultimately paving the way for more innovative and efficient production methods. Furthermore, the ability to work seamlessly within the same platform enhances communication and reduces errors, leading to a more streamlined workflow overall.

What is MAX-PAC?

The MAX-PACâ„¢ suite of CAM software from NREC offers exceptional cutter-path solutions specifically designed for turbomachinery components, enabling users to implement a variety of cutting strategies that significantly reduce engineering and production costs. This versatile software can be tailored with different modules to suit unique part geometries, supporting operations such as flank milling for ruled-surface blades, point milling for arbitrary-surface blades, integrally shrouded impellers, and individual blades. MAX-PAC has earned a reputation as the leading CAM software for 5-axis milling of turbomachinery parts, including impellers, blisks, and rotors, and is highly regarded by manufacturers, job shops, and 5-axis machine-tool providers around the world. The advanced capabilities of MAX-PAC are underpinned by methodologies protected by three unique patents, showcasing its innovative approach. Unlike other CAM solutions, MAX-PAC is dedicated solely to turbomachinery, leading to a faster learning curve, improved usability, and shortened programming and machining times, which make it an essential tool for professionals in the field. Additionally, its specialized features not only enhance the efficiency of the machining process but also guarantee accuracy and reliability for intricate turbomachinery designs, ultimately benefiting the overall production workflow.
