What is scribe?

Scribe functions as an automated knowledge base on a self-hosted platform, leveraging your tools for content creation. It meticulously analyzes Git history, Claude Code and Codex sessions, as well as self-sent URLs and drop files, converting this data into a well-structured, cross-project wiki formatted in Markdown and preserved within Git repositories. By alleviating the necessity for developers to maintain an extra cognitive framework or to reconstruct context at the start of each agent session, Scribe adeptly captures essential decisions, solutions, assessments, and the reasoning behind them, allowing agents to access this accumulated knowledge before taking any actions. Its operational pipeline is orchestrated through cron jobs, which enables it to recognize projects and filter out low-value data using FTS5 before interacting with an LLM, thereby extracting validated facts through structured bounded workflows executed in two stages. The resulting output is organized into entity-centric pages that include YAML frontmatter, wikilinks, backlinks, retrieval context, and a variety of relationship types, such as supersedes, contradicts, derived_from, specializes, and extends, which ensures thorough documentation and clarity across various projects. This organized methodology not only fosters enhanced collaboration and knowledge sharing among teams but also streamlines the entire development process, ultimately leading to more efficient project management. As a result, teams can work more cohesively, drawing on a shared pool of insights and decisions that improve overall productivity.

What is Help Generator?

The Help Generator provides a robust array of tools tailored for the creation of CHM help files, online assistance, and printed user manuals. Its modern editing interface, drawing inspiration from Office design, is filled with features that boost productivity and guarantee exceptional outcomes. Users can take advantage of the WYSIWYG (HTML) Help Editor, which is equipped with an intuitive Windows fluent ribbon for effortless editing. With the Help Generator, it is possible to develop standard Windows help files, commonly known as CHM files or compiled HTML help, along with online help tailored for any Windows application. The included add-in creates comprehensive topic pages for each form in your application, featuring a title, a screenshot with an image map, and dedicated sections for all controls. Importantly, these pages generated by the add-in are seamlessly integrated with your application, allowing for immediate F1 support that provides context-sensitive help. Furthermore, there are add-in versions that work flawlessly with Visual Studio .NET, Visual Basic 6, and Microsoft Access, enhancing its adaptability across various development platforms. This versatility not only simplifies the documentation process but also guarantees that users can readily access the information they require, contributing to a more efficient user experience. Overall, the Help Generator stands out as a valuable tool for developers looking to enhance their documentation efforts.
