What is Selects?

Selects functions as a cutting-edge desktop AI-powered video editing solution designed specifically for creators and production teams who focus on creating video podcasts, interviews, multicamera projects, tutorials, vlogs, and short clips. This advanced software analyzes video content to recognize speech, distinguish speakers, assess scenes, and pinpoint crucial segments, enabling users to request modifications through a chat interface, such as removing pauses, changing camera angles, and finding specific moments based on descriptions. Furthermore, users can refine their edits on a multitrack timeline, add captions and motion graphics, and create videos, images, or voiceovers. Selects also streamlines the process of exporting and publishing directly to platforms like YouTube and TikTok, while allowing users to transfer editable projects to top software options like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Avid Media Composer. The desktop application supports both Windows and Mac operating systems, making it accessible to a wider audience. Notably, users can utilize timeline editing and export functionalities in the free plan, while AI-driven analysis and generative features function on a credit-based system, with the option to acquire additional credits through various paid subscriptions. This blend of robust features positions Selects as a highly adaptable tool in the ever-evolving world of video editing, catering to the diverse needs of modern content creators.

What is Basecut?

Basecut is a specialized desktop application tailored for wedding and event videographers who work with multiple cameras, allowing them to effectively navigate through a vast array of clips before commencing the editing phase. This software runs directly on the user’s Mac or Windows system, with the initial processing taking place locally on the machine. It processes an entire card dump at once, detecting and marking blurry images, duplicates, and clips with subpar audio while sorting the remaining footage into categories such as heroes, keepers, maybes, and skips, aiding the editor in determining which clips to focus on first. The application is compatible with log footage from top camera manufacturers, including Canon, Sony, Panasonic, DJI, GoPro, ARRI, and Blackmagic, and it applies the necessary color corrections from per-camera log to Rec.709, ensuring a uniform color appearance across all cameras utilized in the shoot. The outcome is a well-organized bin structure with pre-applied grading, which can be exported as a DaVinci Resolve project or in formats like FCPXML, ALE, or EDL that are compatible with Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro. By streamlining the workflow in this manner, Basecut ultimately enables editors to save considerable time and effort, allowing them to concentrate on the more creative elements of their projects. As a result, videographers can enhance their productivity and improve the overall quality of their final edits.
