What is SoftNAS?

SoftNAS represents a cloud-native, software-defined product line designed specifically for enterprise cloud NAS filers. Its versatility allows it to serve as a primary or secondary data storage solution while also facilitating hybrid cloud data integration, enabling existing applications to connect to the cloud securely without the need for extensive modifications. Equipped with enterprise-grade NAS functionalities, SoftNAS ensures high availability alongside features like deduplication, compression, and thin-provisioning. Additionally, it seamlessly integrates with LDAP and Active Directory, thereby safeguarding mission-critical data and optimizing the management of primary, hot, and backup/archive data, ultimately enhancing the efficiency and reliability of cloud data migration. With a diverse array of storage options that balance cost and performance, SoftNAS is available on-demand and can scale to petabytes across both AWS and Azure Marketplaces, as well as on-premises setups using VMware, making it an attractive choice for businesses seeking flexible storage solutions. Furthermore, its robust architecture is designed to adapt easily to the evolving needs of modern enterprises.

What is Phillux?

Phillux is an advanced virtualization platform designed specifically for the management of your own servers, proficiently handling both LXC containers and virtual machines, while offering an array of features that include storage management, image handling, virtual networking, snapshots, cloning, backups, and individualized firewalls for each guest, all operable from a single host or a small cluster utilizing shared OCFS2 storage with the capability of live migrating active virtual machines. Windows 11 guests are enhanced with automatic UEFI, Secure Boot, and a virtual TPM 2.0, facilitating straightforward unattended installations, and Linux guests are able to easily boot from pre-configured cloud images through cloud-init, with the added ability to import existing virtual machines from VMware ESXi or Proxmox platforms. The cutting-edge firewall functions at the network device level for every guest, preventing the risk of being locked out of the system due to misconfigured rules, and a ransomware prevention feature vigilantly monitors file writes within the guest environment, pausing the machine if it detects any suspicious activity, thereby safeguarding the encryption key for potential recovery. Each aspect of the platform is accessible via a comprehensive REST endpoint, and it operates on Debian 13, following a per-CPU socket licensing model that guarantees your data remains securely on your own hardware, free from reliance on cloud services or telemetry. This dedication to privacy, combined with high performance, positions Phillux as an exceptional choice for users in search of dependable virtualization solutions that ensure both security and efficiency. Additionally, its user-friendly interface allows for streamlined management, making it even more appealing for system administrators and IT professionals alike.
