What is StuckPipePro?

A stuck pipe can occur due to a variety of reasons, largely categorized into two principal types: mechanical sticking and differential sticking. Mechanical sticking typically arises from problems like key seating, under gauge holes, wellbore instability, insufficient hole cleaning, and other similar issues. On the other hand, differential sticking is often caused by substantial contact forces resulting from low reservoir pressures, high wellbore pressures, or a combination of both, which exert influence over a large area of the drill string. Such instances of stuck pipe are considered some of the most expensive obstacles in drilling operations within the oil and gas industry, with costs to resolve these situations potentially soaring into the millions of dollars. Therefore, it becomes increasingly important to perform a comprehensive analysis of well data to assess the chances of the drill string becoming stuck, which is vital for effective drilling management. By understanding these potential risks, operators can take proactive measures to mitigate issues and minimize delays during the drilling process, ultimately enhancing operational efficiency and reducing the financial impact of such incidents.

What is StarSteer?

Evaluate multiple vendors' tools concurrently, assessing their performance against your specific reservoir geology to identify the most suitable tool and corresponding resistivity curves. Harness all accessible memory data to achieve precise final inversions. Employ the inversion module on High Performance Computing (HPC) systems to guarantee swift outcomes. Continuously monitor the distance to the bed boundary in real-time, which allows you to remain within the target zone and effectively navigate the reservoir. Utilize non-azimuthal tools to establish phase shift and attenuation curves, while also determining the necessary interval length and parameters for executing real-time 2-layer boundary mapping. To better predict a tool's log response prior to deployment, develop an earth model that accurately represents the formations being drilled, facilitating the straightforward modeling of resistivity impacts, which include shoulder effects, polarization horns, and anisotropy. This integrated strategy not only optimizes decision-making but also significantly boosts the efficiency of drilling operations, leading to enhanced resource extraction and reduced operational costs. By continuously refining these processes, you can ensure that the highest standards of performance and accuracy are maintained throughout the drilling project.
