What is Thingsboard?

ThingsBoard enhances device connectivity by utilizing popular IoT protocols like MQTT, CoAP, and HTTP, catering to both cloud-based and local deployments. It is designed with a focus on scalability, robustness, and outstanding performance, safeguarding your data effectively. Users can securely provision, monitor, and manage their IoT devices through extensive server-side APIs. The platform enables the seamless connection of devices, assets, customers, and other entities, simplifying integration. Telemetry data can be collected and stored effectively in a resilient and scalable manner. Users have the option to visualize their data through built-in or customized widgets, along with adaptable dashboards that can be shared with clients. Additionally, ThingsBoard allows for the creation of data processing rule chains, which help transform and standardize device data efficiently. Alerts can be triggered based on incoming telemetry events, attribute updates, device inactivity, and user interactions, further enhancing system responsiveness. To maximize scalability and fault tolerance, users can build a ThingsBoard cluster utilizing its microservices architecture. Furthermore, the platform supports both cloud and on-premises configurations, providing a flexible solution for diverse deployment requirements. This adaptability empowers users to customize their IoT implementations to meet specific needs and preferences, ensuring an optimal experience.

What is QuickHMI?

QuickHMI, created by Indi.An GmbH in Bremen, Germany, is a cloud-based solution for HMI and SCADA that has been delivering automation software since 2006. It enables users to craft their visualizations via a Windows editor, which can be deployed on multiple platforms such as Windows, Linux, Docker, or Raspberry Pi. Operators can conveniently access their interfaces using any modern web browser, a specific viewer, or a mobile app. Notably, there are no client installations or licensing fees required, as QuickHMI eliminates follow-up costs related to licensing and does not charge for runtimes or tags. All commercial editions provide unlimited access to data sources, variables, alarms, pages, and concurrent sessions, making it a robust choice for businesses. The system supports an extensive array of connectivity options, including Siemens S7, Modbus, Beckhoff TwinCAT, OPC UA, MQTT, KNX/EIB, Allen-Bradley, BACnet, SQL databases, InfluxDB, and several web services. The user-friendly drag-and-drop interface simplifies the engineering process and features SVG graphics along with around 4,000 pre-designed controls, detailed alarm management, recipe management, and user management with role-based permissions. Moreover, it includes responsive design breakpoints and the ability to integrate custom HTML5 and JavaScript elements seamlessly. Clients also receive twelve months of support and access to significant upgrades, enhancing its appeal to businesses. QuickHMI's blend of extensive features and an economical licensing model makes it a standout solution in the competitive automation software market.
