What is Updraft?

Updraft App Distribution is a web-based service that facilitates ongoing testing and distribution of mobile applications. You can effortlessly share your iOS beta, Android beta, or Windows applications with your product managers or testers within your team, enabling them to provide immediate feedback on your app's performance. This process aids in enhancing the app's quality by effectively identifying and rectifying bugs. You can also resign your .ipa package using updated distribution profiles and provisioning certificates, as well as resign the .aab file, while establishing connections to your App Store or Play Store. The ease of continuous app distribution and bug reporting has reached new heights with this platform. Additionally, Updraft offers integration options through CURL or APIs, making it a versatile tool for your development workflow, and it allows you to create a dedicated Enterprise app store for your organization’s needs. This comprehensive approach ensures that your app's development cycle remains swift and efficient.

What is TestFlight?

Developers can facilitate the testing of beta versions of their applications using the TestFlight app, which is accessible for download from the App Store on devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Apple TVs. To participate in the beta testing process via TestFlight, you must first accept an invitation sent through email or a public link provided by the app's developer, and ensure you have a compatible device for testing purposes. Additionally, developers have the option to invite members of their team through App Store Connect, which allows those team members to access all available app builds, while other testers will only have access to specific builds designated by the developer. Invitations can be delivered either through email or a public link, making it easy to gather feedback. To begin testing, download the TestFlight app on your selected testing device, then either accept the email invitation or click the public link to install the beta application. You are permitted to install the beta app on up to 30 different devices, which allows for a more extensive testing process and the opportunity to gather valuable user feedback. This thorough testing phase is crucial as it helps developers refine their applications, ultimately ensuring that they are polished and ready for a wider audience upon release. Engaging in this process not only benefits developers but also enhances the overall user experience before the official launch.
