What is VolView?

VolView is a user-friendly, open-source application tailored for radiologists that allows the three-dimensional visualization of DICOM data through interactive cinematic volume rendering. This tool operates directly in web browsers, ensuring that sensitive data is securely handled since it remains on the user’s device without necessitating any installation. With its intuitive drag-and-drop feature for DICOM files, VolView stands out by providing high-quality, interactive 3D renderings that enhance user experience. Clinicians can customize their viewing experience by exploring various color presets, adjusting lighting and transparency, cropping images, and engaging deeply with the 3D data to gain better insights. The platform includes both traditional 2D and advanced 3D controls, measurement tools, and options for annotating images, with frequent updates implemented based on user feedback. Operating locally, VolView utilizes the user's own CPU, GPU, and disk space, thereby eliminating the need for external servers or cloud storage. Furthermore, its open-source nature ensures that it remains free and accessible to healthcare professionals, fostering collaboration and innovation within the clinical community. This capability not only enhances diagnostic accuracy but also encourages the adoption of cutting-edge visualization methods in medical practice. Ultimately, VolView empowers clinicians to improve patient outcomes through advanced imaging techniques.

What is Elements Spine SRS?

Brainlab's Elements Spine Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) is an advanced software platform designed to optimize the treatment of spinal metastases. The workflow is characterized by its automation in every stage, which includes detailed anatomical mapping, adjustments for spinal curvature, and precise target identification, ensuring exceptional accuracy and consistency at submillimeter precision. A unique algorithm effectively addresses differences in spinal curvature, enhancing the reliability of image fusion. The system utilizes a patented synthetic tissue model for automatic segmentation, allowing for the accurate identification and labeling of various spinal levels essential for dose calculations. Additionally, tools for defining Gross Tumor Volume (GTV) contours are provided, along with automated recommendations for Clinical Target Volume (CTV) and a cropped spinal canal object that complies with International Spine Consortium Guidelines. The incorporation of AI-driven contouring features facilitates the rapid and accurate delineation of more than 200 anatomical structures, including lymph nodes. This technological development not only simplifies the treatment workflow but also significantly improves patient outcomes in the management of spinal cancer, reflecting a major leap forward in oncological care. As a result, healthcare professionals can deliver more tailored and effective treatment strategies for patients grappling with this challenging condition.
